Hi, guys! If you're only about to start this malec fic, please be advised that I won't be continuing it on this platform anymore. Instead, I have rewritten it on Archive of our Own (AO3) and plan to finish it there. It may be accessed using the external link found below this chapter (or you may search The Time Traveler by phantasmagorea on AO3).
I strongly advise against proceeding with this Wattpad version because I wrote it when I was 13 and the rewritten version on Ao3 is written by 21-year-old me, and there are also differences in the plot. The writing style is also much more mature in the AO3 version. The blurb on AO3 is also different as seen below:
Alec Lightwood jumped inside a strange Portal, chasing after a demon that kidnapped his boyfriend Magnus Bane during an attack in the warlock's Brooklyn loft. Alec was portaled to London, but it wasn't the London that Alec knew – he had unknowingly traveled 130 years into the past, right into England's Victorian era.
So many questions raced through Alec's mind – why did he travel back in time, how was he supposed to get back, and most importantly, where was Magnus?
With nowhere else to turn to, Alec sought out the London Institute, which was currently headed by a Shadowhunter named Will Herondale, unaware that he was also about to cross paths with Magnus Bane of 1878, who absolutely had no idea who Alec was.
But if you'd wish to continue with this Wattpad version, then it's alright. Just do know that this version will not be continued anymore.
