A cool breeze swept over the city, ruffling Hoseok's hair as he padded down the chilly street. January lasted for a long time, although in the end the month seemed short. He brushed his orange hair out of his eyes and unlocked the keys to his mother's car, humming softly as he placed the groceries in the backseat, knowing how much Yoongi loved lamb meat, despite the fact that he was a triple S vampire, the vampire stated he liked the tangy, juicy taste of the meat.
"Bloodbloodbloodblood—"
Hoseok looked up, puzzled as he heard a sort of stifled muffle. This part of the city was abnormally empty, since it usually swelled with people when the open-air markets opened during the day, but at night, it never failed to spook Hoseok into bustling quickly into his mother's car that smelled faintly of eucalyptus and lavender, the smell relaxing his nerves as he started up the engine.
He dialed Yoongi's number as he began to drive, and flushed as the vampire picked up instantly. "Baby?"
"Yoongi!" Hoseok chirped. "I bought the lamb. Do you want it cooked? I'm planning on cooking it at my mother's bakery, since I have to return her car."
He heard Yoongi's deep chuckle. "I'm already there, babe, your mother invited me."
Hoseok blinked. "But she was so...against our relationship." He bit his lip nervously out of habit, remembering the day he had finally exposed to his mother that Yoongi was not your everyday typical boyfriend, but a mythical creature that found pleasure and satisfaction from consuming blood. She had freaked out and kicked Yoongi from the bakery with surprising strength, but you could say a protective mother and father always seemed stronger protecting their child.
"She wanted to get to know me. I can see where you get such sweet blood from, Hoseokie, your mother smells delightful."
Most people would've taken that as an insult, but Hoseok simply giggled, knowing all too well that it was a compliment, thinking back to the day Yoongi had first stumbled hungrily up to him while Hoseok was out rescuing his sister from a bar, mumbling something about a tenderly scented blood, and the two ended up in Yoongi's bed that night, a gentle love session that Hoseok had surprisingly submitted to.
He'd guessed Yoongi just had that sort of charm, a cold demeanor but a soft, warm bean at heart, who found many things cute and adored cute little black bear stuffys, which Hoseok luckily had many of, thanks to his little sister.
"Oh, also—"
"—blood!"
Hoseok shrieked, his phone flying out of his hands as something crashed through the window, glass spraying everywhere like snow, scattering the ground. Hoseok gasped and struggled to undo his seatbelt, before flitting open his eyes and freezing up as two red eyes peered at him from a distance, hunched over and breathing heavily as the figure slowly stumbled towards him in a lurching gait.
It was something you'd see in horror movies; a terrifyingly mysterious shadow figure, two pairs of bright red eyes that no doubt belonged to a vampire, walking, (or more so stumbling) towards your broken car, frightening growls and snaps coming from the creature. Hoseok whimpered and mumbled out a faint, "Yoongi," as he grabbed his phone.
"Hoseok? What's going on? Stay there, I can smell your fear from here."
The line went dead and Hoseok stared frightfully at the shadowed creature. "P-please don't hurt me." He stammered, fiddling with his seatbelt, cautiously undoing them and holding the wheel protectively, although it'd really do nothing when it came down to defense. He felt a cold trickle of fear down his spine and screamed when the heavily muscled figure pinned him to his seat, his breath sharp with the scent of blood, his eyes crazed and hungry.
"Blood," the creature growled, mouth drooling over Hoseok's collarbone before sinking his teeth in, emitting the loudest most painful scream from Hoseok. He wriggled and thrashed, lashing out and scratching the male's back, sobbing and pleading as he began to feel light-headed.
But then suddenly, the figure was ripped off of him and Hoseok clutched his wound that pumped freely of blood, and a more comforting scent surrounded him, musky, the scent of a familiar aftershave having Hoseok blink open his eyes. Yoongi's warm red eyes stared back at him and he shifted Hoseok's hand away, leaning down to wash away the other male's scent and lapping gently at the stinging wound, healing the area. "This is why I can't trust you to go out alone." Yoongi drawled. "Stay here, your body needs to rest. He drank so much." Yoongi stared furiously down at Hoseok's scarily thin arms, the effects of a hungry vampire simply being shown here. "We'll have to bond again; your body's dying."
Hoseok only whimpered in response. He felt dizzy, nauseous but tired. Exhaustion flooded through his limbs as he felt his lover push away, a protective growl rumbling in Yoongi's throat. As the noises of fighting broke out, Hoseok drifted off into sleep, and his body began to heal as he did so, while his lover fought and fought, a heated look in his eyes as he slashed at the blood thief.
"Taehyung!" Yoongi spat, his lips curling up in delight. "How naive that we meet again, in the same way we fought after you killed my mother."
Taehyung's tongue lolled out to the side, his voice slightly garbled. "Your mother's blood was delicious, and I'm wondering if yours is that satisfying as well." Yoongi saw Taehyung begin to drool. "Let me eat you!"
Yoongi stared, horrified at the way Taehyung's hands clawed at the air for him, and he sighed. "You really are insane." He leaned forward and sniffed. "You've already eaten six people, you binge eater, stop hogging all the food to yourself and—"
Taehyung darted forward and Yoongi suddenly vanished. Yes, Taehyung was a pureblood species of cannibal vampires, and Yoongi was a pureblood of a royal bloodline, the richest and the most petite vampires, nimble and swift. They had the ability to run faster than the average triple s vampire, which gave Yoongi an advantage as he appeared right behind Taehyung and kicked him square in the head, knocking him out instantly.
Yoongi shook his leg in disgust, brushing dust off his shirt and staring at the heavily muscled vampire in front of him. To humans, he would be fast, but to Yoongi, he was slow. Probably due to all the strength and muscle he was laced with: Yoongi didn't care. He liked being fast, his legs were longer and nimble, allowing him to run faster than the wind, feeling time itself whip past him when he ran.
"Yoon," Hoseok's soft voice snapped Yoongi out of his thoughts and he dashed over to Hoseok, pinning him to the car seat and staring with satisfaction as his arms and legs began to fatten up with blood again. Yoongi hushed him and kissed him softly, running his lips along his cheeks gently. Vampires loved to touch, and mark what was theirs. Their skinship plummets through the roof, but they find nothing wrong with it, having more pleasure at seeing their submissive's necks and skin marked up with dark spots, their own scent perfumed around them heavily.
"You are so beautiful," Yoongi mumbled, "so strong." He began to roll his hips and Hoseok moaned.
"N-not here, Yoon," he gasped, squirming a little, " 'M sleepy."
Behind them, Taehyung lazily stirred, and ran, away from Hoseok and Yoongi, away from Jimin, and Seokjin.
Unnoticed by anyone, sifting through shadows, panting hard as he ran and ran, tears prickling his eyes, mouth open in frozen agony as his body seemed to feel as if it were tearing and ripping, the comforting bonds and invisible ropes connecting him and his love snapping and twisting as he trailed further and further away. They called desperately for him to come back, to love again, but he did not turn back.He would disappear for a long time, and would not return.
