Chapter 25: “Pool Day”
> Elaine’s POV <
“Girl, hold still. Sige ka, magugulo yung buhok mo...” banta ni Jam sa akin.
“Eh bakit pa kasi kailangan mag-ayos ng buhok? Mababasa rin naman yan...”
“Well duh... You have to look pretty for your boyfriend and besides, nakakadistract yan kapag lumangoy ka na.”
“Tsk. Whatever.”
Ngayon, sabay sabay ang PE class ng second years. And today is pool day. Half-day lang kami ngayon kaya we’re free to swim and play sa Olympic size lap pool ng school namin.
And now, nandito kami ni Jam sa changing room at nagpalit na ng one-piece dark blue swimsuit na pwede lang gamitin. Bawal daw kasi yung mga two-piece at bikinis.
After fixing my hair, sinuot ko na yung necklace na bigay ni Adrian.
“Hey, kamusta naman kayo ni Adrian?” tanong ni Jam. Tinaasan ko naman siya ng kilay.
“Anong kamusta? May sakit? Ganun?”
She rolled her eyes at me.
“Ha-ha. Very funny. But seriously, are you guys doing well?” she asked again.
Where is she going with this? Bakit ba niya ako tinatanong? Ano kami, celebrity couple?!
“We’re fine... I guess.”
“So... you don’t care about Hiro anymore?”
Napatigil ako.
I really hate hearing that name. It gives me the chills.
“You know what, never mind. Tara na?” tapos lumabas na kami.
Pagkalabas namin... SOBRANG INGAY. Sigawan dito, tilian doon. Halos maglabasan na yung mga tonsil nila. Bakit ba?!
Then I saw what the commotion was all about.
Huh. Go figure.
