As I laid down in bed Willow wrapped her arms around in her usual death grip.
"I trust we aren't going to make Whitney a new sibling?" I said sarcastically as she nuzzled up under my chin.
"No, not tonight." she replied with a chuckle.
As I was about to drift off into sleep Willow decided to mess with me.
"So how was your talk with Maxwell?" she said with her eyes still closed but a smile on my face.
Of course my heart almost stopped at her having known but I responded regardless.
"How did you know?"
She gave a sigh that conveyed 'I know you better than you realize' and said "Because that's the first time in six years that you needlessly went off alone for a while and came back with nothing new."
"Oh..."
"I could have sworn he was dead wasn't he?"
"I don't want to go through the headache inducing explanation again but Charlie has been keeping him alive for some reason."
"And what does he want with you?"
"He wants me to venture out to another island to fetch some book off of an alter."
"Another island?"
"Yes he said it was on another island."
I should have known bringing that up was a bad idea.
"If there are other islands we should try and find them!" she said excitedly.
"Honey calm down... We'll put it to a vote tomorrow but for now I just want to sleep. Plus I can't deal with Whitney's excitement..."
"Fine..."
And with that we went to sleep, Willow smiling in anticipation and crushing my ribs like usual.
