Chapter 15: So, what now?

"So what now? He's coming for us?" Bella asked Edward as he drove through the forest. And might I say a little to fast for my liking. I understand he was trying to get away from that psycho but still Bella and I are humans and could still get hurt.

"Listen James, he's a tracker. The hunt is his obsession. My reaction on the field set him off." Edward half answered her question. 

"I just made it his most exciting game and he won't stop" Edwards laughs bitterly. 

"One question, why did he only catch Bella scent and not mine?" I asked Edward still confused.

"You're wearing Rosalie's hat and Carlisle's scarf so that helped. And plus Carlisle was in front of you when the wind blew. And when I was reading his mind, he didn't even notice you until you went in front of Bella." He tells me, looking at me from the mirror. I nod at his explanation. 

"So what now? What do we do?" Bella ask. You could hear the fear in her face. Poor Bells she has a lunatic vampire hunting her down.

"We have to kill him, rip him apart and burn him into pieces" Edward informs us. Couldn't he just say that he'll stop him? 

"Where are we going?" Bella asks Edwards. We weren't heading back to Forks that's for sure.

"Away from Forks" Edward started to say but was cut off by Bella.

"No, I have to go home, WE have to go home" Bella yells at Edward. 

"You can't go home, he gonna trace your scent there. It'll be the first place he'll look. Plus he might pick up on Amelia's scent and it'll put her in danger." Edward looks at me with guilt written all over his face. I send him a small smile, trying to ease his guilt. It wasn't his fault, it's mine. I knew what was going to happen and yet I forgot. How dumb can I be!!

"But our dad is there," Bella says looking at me. She's right we can't leave Charlie there unprotected. 

"IT DOES'T MATTER"Edwards interrupts Bella. 

"Of course it matters, he's our father" Bella retorts back as fierce. 

Edward looks back at me. I knew what he was silently telling me with his eyes. Telling me if we go back it'll put me in danger. Asking me if I wanted to go back. Of course, I want to Charlie's is my father figure. It would kill me if something happens to him because I didn't go and help. I didn't mind risking my life for him, he's a good man and he doesn't deserve to be in pain. I'll sacrifice my life for him anytime. I nodded to Edward, agreeing to his silent question. He sighs and nods. Turning the car and we headed back to Forks. 

"But first we need a plan. We can't just go and pack up our stuff and leave Charlie in the dark" I tell him. We stay silent until Bella speaks up.

"I can tell him that Edward broke my heart and that I need to leave--" Bella begins but I cut her off. 

"No, Bella that'll break his heart if you leave him. How about that I received a call from one of my relative from my mother's side. Telling me that I had to go back to Vegas, it's an emergency that couldn't wait. So I asked you to go with me because I didn't want to go by myself." I tell him. I didn't like what she did to Charlie in the movies. They both agree to it and that's our lie. Edward called Carlisle to let him know what's going on. 

~~ Bella's House~~

We pull up at the house and we see that Charlie was still up. The living room light was still on. Bella and I go inside, Charlie rushes to us demanding answers but once he sees my face he stops.
