Will they ever leave?

Jesus.

It's been about 20 minutes and they're just sitting down talking about god knows what. I tried to eavesdrop but I can't hear them clearly over the distance between us and their accents.

As if on cue with my thoughts they start standing and throw their cups and napkins in the trash.

"Thank you, Alana." Harry says then places a bill in the tip jar before waving a hand at me and walking out with the one named Liam.

At least I think it's Liam, it could be Louis.

I start wiping up the mess I made ignoring the fact that Niall is just lingering around staring at the walls then, down at his shoes then, at me.

Finally, he walks over to the counter and we make eye contact. It's kind of nice seeing his face then matching it to the guy I saw before.

It all makes sense now though. He's famous. He has to remain hidden or he will be ambushed by a bunch of fans and paparazzi. Especially, since it seemed like he was alone without protection.

"Can I get you something?" I ask politely wondering why he was waiting.

"Your number, maybe?"

Did he just ask for my number?

I just stand shocked with my mouth opened, not knowing what to say to him. I've never even talked to a famous person before let alone give one my number.

"Or not. You probably have a boyfriend or something like that." he rambles face turning slightly pink.

"Oh god no. I'm single. You just took me by surprise." I say quickly feeling bad for making him uncomfortable.

I reach my hand out for his phone then quickly put my number in it.

"I really hope it's not wrong." I say handing him it back then he laughs.

His laugh is so adorable.

"Yeah me too. Thank you for the coffee. The boys are waiting on me but I'll definitely see you around." he smiles at me warmly.

"Definitely." I say back smiling then watch as he walks out.

No. Fucking. Way.

I had to sit at work for two more hours just making myself relive that whole thing. I met Harry Styles, Niall Horan has my number in his phone at this very moment and I have to be dreaming.

Right as I clocked out I texted my two friends Nia and Brooklyn telling them "COME TO THE APARTMENT. I HAVE NEWS".

I don't think I've ever drove home that fast before. Well, as fast as New York traffic let me.

Nia and I share an apartment together while while Brook lives in the dorms since she's in college. It isn't that big of a deal though since she's always at our place anyway.

The three of us have known each other since middle school and we're so close that they're practically my sisters.

I met Nia first. She was shy but it was okay because I was too. Then came Brooklyn, the girl who wore missed match clothes and bright barrettes to hold down her wild curly hair. She was our missing puzzle piece.

She was the one who talked, came up with the bad ideas, and wanted us to have fun.

She still is.

I walk into the apartment and find them both there just sitting on the couch waiting for me to arrive.

"This better be good." Brook says.

"It is trust me." I say throwing all of my stuff down and kicked my shoes off before squeezing myself on the couch between them. "I met One Direction today at work." I blurt out.

"You did what?" Nia said.

"Well, only 3/5th's of the group. It was Harry, Niall, and Liam. They walked into Starbu-"

"You made me miss my 5 o'clock class for this bullshit?" Brook says rudely cutting me off.

"Okay first of all it's not everyday you meet world famous people." I defend.

"You met some cute, British white guys who sing pop music. Big deal? It's not like you met Beyonce." Brook say.

Sassy like always.

"Can you shut the fuck up and let me finish my story please." I say then she just pretends to zip her mouth closed.

"So, Niall is the creepy guy I told you about that has been coming into the store this week. And, today he asked for my number and said he definitely wants to see me soon." I finish excitedly.

"Bitch. He likes you!" Nia says jumping up then pulling me up off the couch to hug me.

"He's going to ask you out. We have to get you a perfect outfit. You can't just wear anything, he's famous." she rambled excitedly. "But, first we need to find out where you're going?"

"No, Nia first he has to ask her on the date." Brook corrects then I nodded.

Nia has always been the hopeless romantic friend who always thinks someone is going to be the "perfect" couple or possibly get married.

Honestly, it's refreshing. She feeds on that little bit of hope inside of you and makes you think the best of every situation. Yes, it can be unfortunate if it doesn't work out but it's kind of nice being excited about something for once in my life.

On the other hand Brooklyn is a walking reality check. She's the first one to think negatively about a situation and tell you not to "get your hopes up". That's always nice too. The lower your standards the less you hurt.

I wouldn't have made it through my last breakup without her.

"Okay, whatever." she sighed. "Alana. You do understand how important it is to keep your phone on and charged at all times now, right? He could text you at any time. Then, you could date him, get famous and, fall in love." Nia says dramatically.

"Dramatic as always, my love." Brooklyn smirks at Nia then pats her like a dog.

Then, she looks at me with thinking eyes she has her signature look on her face. The look me and Nia have grown to fear.

She's thinking of a bad idea.

"Do you guys remember Blaze?" she smiled mischievously.

Jesus christ.
