Chapter Ten - Crushes?
I woke up with a start, hoping that it wasn't true.
He can't be dead, I thought.
The door burst open and the light turned on, blinding me for a second. Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall walked in both looking tired and sad, confirming my worst fear.
"Chelsea-"
"I know! I know he killed him!" I shouted, not caring that the other girls were now awake.
"Chelsea, what's wrong?" Chloe asked me.
"He killed him," I choked out between sobs.
"Who killed who?" asked Casee.
"Voldemort. He killed-"
"He had killed Chelsea's father," Professor McGonagall interrupted.
"Why? It's not like either of them are anything special," Pansy said.
"Why you little-" Casee started.
"That's enough," Dumbledore said, "Chelsea, please come with me."
I slowly got up from my bed and walked out with Professor Dumbledore.
We went up to his office and he sat down behind his desk and beckoned for me to sit down in the chair across from him.
"Why?" I asked, "Why did he have to kill him?"
"I'm sorry Chelsea, but some things even I don't know the reasons for," Dumbledore said.
"WELL WHY NOT?" I yelled, standing up.
"I don't know Chelsea," he said, remaining clam, "but would you please sit down."
I glared at Dumbledore, and then stormed out of the room. I could hear him calling after me, but I didn't turn around. I just kept walking and eventually I started running. I ran and I didn't even know where I was. All I knew was that I was in front of a picture of a very fat lady.
"Excuse me," I asked the portrait, "where am I?"
"Where are you? You are in front of the entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room of course," she said, "now do you know the password or are you from a different house?"
Once I heard 'Gryffindor Common Room' I started to back away. The last thing I needed was some Gryffindor coming here and asking me why I was here. Sure enough, guess who I saw. I'll give you a hint, he had a scar on his forehead.
"Chelsea? What are you doing here?" he asked.
"None of your business, Potter," I spat.
"All I asked was why you were here," he mumbled, pushing past me.
"What are you doing out here so late at night?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"None of your business, Parker," he said, using my own words against me.
"Where were you?" I said going in front of him so that he couldn't leave.
"None of your business, Parker."
"Fine," I said, "then I'll just calmly walk away and we'll pretend that this never happened."
"Alright," he said going past me.
I waited until he was far enough past me so that he couldn't see me, and I jumped. I tackled him to the ground and pinned his arms down.
"I'll ask again, where were you?"
"And I'll answer again, none of your business, Parker," he said, struggling to get up.
"Nice try," I said, digging my nails into his wrists,"I'm gonna ask one more time. Where were you?"
"Chelsea, why do you want to know so bad?" he asked me.
Why did I want to know so bad?
"Just find out where he was!" my father's voice rang out in my head.
"Go away!" I yelled.
"I want to but, in case you haven't noticed, you are holding my down."
Find out! he shouted in my head again.
"I said go away!"
"Chelsea! What is wrong with you?" Harry asked, still trying to get up.
I got up off of Harry and turned away. Of all people, I didn't want him to see me crying. I started to walk away but he grabbed me.
"Let me go, Harry!" I said.
He turned me around so that I was facing him, and he just looked at me.
"Potter! Let me go!"
He leaned closer to me. His lips were only inches from mine. He started to back me into a wall and I continued to try and get free. He leaned even closer and he said,
"Do you still want to know where I was?" he asked.
I glared at him, because I knew he was just waiting for me to reply.
Then, what I had only thought he would do, he kissed me.
