32. Next Chapter

"You were right. I can't believe that after all those conversations we had I didn't see it. I guess, I was being selfish. I am selfish. Aren't I?" Jungkook asked him.

Jungkook knew he wouldn't say he was. Jungkook knew this man tried to see the best in everyone. Maybe that's why he knew he would be given a second chance to do things right. To redeem himself.

"I don't think you're selfish. You just were torn about what you thought you felt and didn't. You needed last night to happen to open up your eyes." Jungkook nodded.

He understood what NamJoon had been telling him all along. It's that he didn't take into account his love for him. Even if he didn't love Jungkook, he was a voice of reason. Jungkook appreciated the times he took time to talk about it all. It was silly and not surprising how everything worked out in the end.

"Is it weird that it needed to happen for me to figure it all out? You seemed to see it all. Why couldn't I?" Jungkook looked at him playing with his curls. It was weird because Jungkook wasn't sure if he should or could. He continued seeing the dimples in NamJoon's cheeks, at the gesture.

"I can't say. We got it all sorted out. Are you ready? New beginnings starting today." He got up and extended his hand towards Jungkook.

"Yeah, will you ever forgive me? Forgive me for my stupidity and stubbornness?" Jungkook held his hand standing up.

"I thought I did." He smiled with his dimples showing. "You're all mine now. There won't be a moment where you'll second guess yourself. You won't be scared to realize there's an us. That's what I'm excited about. No holding back."

"Me too. And I'm sorry. I don't know how many times I'll apologize before feeling any better. Maybe I'll say it forever but..." He stopped Jungkook's rant with a kiss.

"Stop. We'll get over it. I knew what I was getting myself into. Just don't think in the future I'll be so understanding. Cheating is serious business. It's my turn to do it." He joked which led Jungkook to smack his shoulder.

"I'm kidding. You've got quite the arm." He rubbed his shoulder. He only smiled letting Jungkook know he was joking. "So, how were things this morning?"

They walked hand in hand to the nearest coffee shop. Jungkook knew he wanted to know if he was truly alright. It was important for Jungkook to feel welcome when he went to visit the children. He wasn't sure if Jungkook would but he had the hope.

"I cooked breakfast. I said my goodbyes. It was tearfully painful but it went alright. SeokJin was relieved. I think he's going to have a great future with Jimin. He's wonderful and SeokJin knows that. He's always known that." He nodded as if coming to that conclusion. It was clear that last night he had Jimin in his mind. It wasn't Jungkook. His decision made it simpler and less heartbreaking.

"I'm going to miss my babies." Jungkook said hopeful that one day in the near future he'd see them again. It was one thing that weighed on his after the goodbyes. His heart was tearing up because of them.

"Do they know you're leaving?" He asked as they walked in the shop.

"I told them it would be a while before I came back to see them. I should've said to their face but I left it in a note for SeokJin. I didn't want to see their faces of disappointment or see them upset with me. I know Tae would want me to bring him along and I can't."

NamJoon didn't say anything. He understood that the Kim family had earned a special place in his heart. Jungkook ordered their drinks and pastries which he payed for. The two stop their conversation not wanting to be heard.

Jungkook looked at him. He felt Jungkook's gaze. What more could he do beside look at Jungkook?

"I'm happy we're doing this. It's something I wouldn't do on my own. And it's a great thing to do. You'll take care of their health while I teach them English." Jungkook slightly changed the conversation to something lighter. He nodded in agreement.

It was truly a great thing. They both were doing something great here. But NamJoon was happier that Jungkook had no doubts anymore. He was genuinely excited about it. NamJoon could tell by the way Jungkook talked about it, how his eyes lit up.

Jungkook hugged him and kissed his cheek. Handing him his tea and Danish. He was happy they were over the confused emotions, the want of him to give himself but the hesitation that was always there. Today Jungkook was giving himself freely to him without any trace of guilt or doubt.

"Nam? When the year's done. Can we come back and see them? It'll be great seeing them again."

"Yeah, I think you love them as if they were your own. I'm not going to control you or give you shit for that. I'm just your boyfriend." He ended casually.

"And I'm just your boyfriend. I don't want to do anything you're uncomfortable with. I know I would be but just know that it's for the children nothing else." Jungkook assured him.

"I know. What I can't believe is that you think we'll last that long. You didn't use to see it that way." He hoped for a long future with Jungkook too. Now, both were starting to see it that way.

"I know but things change." He blushed in embarrassment. There would be a trace of remorse for not seeing what Jungkook had and wishing for something else.

"I know. We're starting the next chapter in our lives. The best part is were doing it together. Who knows what the future will bring but for now you're here. I'm here. I say we're two people who are ready to fall in love."

"The next chapter sounds great." He smiled and kissed NamJoon.

Jungkook was going somewhere that he was sure of. He had NamJoon who gave him the little gentle push he needed to start accomplishing what he wanted to do. If he hadn't taken the job as the nanny, then he would've never met the people who changed his life. Each one differently but all in a special way earning a place in his heart.

Even SeokJin had a special place in his heart. As a nanny he learned many things. He grew up. Jungkook wondered if they noticed it. Did they see that he was growing and learning along with them? The person he was once learned to be free, about love, family, responsibility, and being a parental figure. Something he'll never regret. Those children were his, and he theirs. Things will only be different moving forward but he wouldn't give up on the small family they created.

After all, he was their nanny. A nanny would always take care of their children. He could be called appa, dada, Kookie or whatever they'd like as long as they knew he loved them with all his heart. That would never change. Even if he had his own kids in the future.
