Chapter: Six

"Arnav..." Arvind called seeing them coming out of Khushi's room

"Yeah Dad..." Arnav made his way to the Living room

Khushi went to the kitchen to help her mother with serving lunch

"Beta... Mein maafi chaahta huin.  ke matter mein tumhara opinion jaane bagair meine Faisla suna dia. (Son... I seek forgiveness. In the matter of wedding... Without knowing your opinion I imposed my decision on you)" Arvind said

"Dad... It's alright" Arnav said

"If.. All this wouldn't have happened. You would have married her. For our sake... Without a word. Chote?"

"Di told you?" Was what Arnav asked

"Yeah... Just regret listening to you all those days when I was close to telling him everything. If not for the promise you took from me... I would've told Dad about this ages ago" Anjali said matter of factly

"I didn't... Know what she thought Di. Or felt... " Arnav defended

"And I am sure it was the situation the other way round too. Wasn't it?" Anjali asked

Arnav nodded and smiled sheepishly

"Anyway... The lunch is served. Shashi uncle is calling you Dad" Anjali said

"Yeah.."

"Di... What exactly is going on now?" Arnav asked once his father was out of the Living Room

"Nothing much... They know what you've decided. Dad and Mom know you love her. Her parents know she loves you. It's just a matter of time till they ask you people about what you want to do" Anjali said

"Anyway... The lunch is ready" Anjali said

"Tumne kya banaya hai Hazel?(What have you made Hazel?)" Arnav asked entering the kitchen

"Salad banaya hai... Chahiye? (I've made salad.. You want?)" Khushi asked

"Salad.. Oh I forgot, Doctor ho... Kaatna peetna hi toh ata hai (You're a doctor... You only know how to cut and chop)" Arnav mocked playfully

"Hmm... You'll have to teach me cooking." Khushi said sadly

"That's going to be tough... Pata chala Bechaari sabzoyon ka operation kardia (Or I'll get to know that you operated those poor vegetables)" Arnav laughed

Khushi smiled but immediately hid her smile behind a fake frown

"Woh sabziyaan tumhe hi khaane  ko milengi (Only you will get to eat those vegetables)" Khushi said frowning

Ratna and Garima were looking at their silly fight with an amused expression

"Tum fir shuru ho gaye dono (Again you both got started)" Garima said chiding softly

"Meri gudiya aati hai toh Arnav mera chote bann jata hai... Warna sara din ASR bana ghoomta hai (When my Doll comes Arnav becomes my Chote... Or else he is ASR for the whole day)" Ratna said

"Maa..."

"I am not lying chote Am I?" Ratna asked

"No you're not. Now I'm starving. Can we please go and have lunch!" Arnav asked desperately

"Aww... Okay. Come Garima Let's go" Ratna said dragging Garima out of the kitchen

"Thank you Hazel... For being what you are. My angel. Jo sabko khush rakhna jaanti hai... (Who knows how to keep everyone happy) Thank you Hazel... For-" Arnav choked slightly with emotion

"Shh... It's Okay. I understand" Khushi said putting a halt to his Thank yous

"I love you" Arnav confessed with a light peck on her forehead before heading out to join everyone for lunch

"Toh... Shashi, Kya socha tumne? (So what have you thought Shashi?)" Arvind asked

"Kis bare mein? (About what?)" Shashi asked mischievously

"Haan haan jaanta huin tujhe bahut mazaa aa raha hai... But on a serious note. What have you thought? (I know... I know you're having fun)" Arvind said

"Dekh lijiye Aap jo kuch bhi hai... Jaise bhi karna hai (Its upto you what you want to do and how you want it to happen)" Shashi said

"Alright then... I think we'll come with the Shagun tomorrow. And rings can be exchanged there and then. Yeah?" Ratna asked

"We frankly don't have a problem with that. Shagun tomorrow and Engagement" Garima said with half a glance at her daughter. Who was blushing slightly

"Jiska shagun hai.. Usse toh puch lijiye (At least ask the one who's shagun is going to be held)" Anjali said glancing meaningfully at Arnav and his hazel

Arnav looked up only to find himself being shot with teasing glances

"That was very helpful Di" Arnav gritted out annoyed

"Thank you chote" Anjali said mockingly. Fueling his frustration

"Di... I hate you" Arnav mouthed

"Oh... Really? Too bad. I love you too" Anjali mouthed back.

"Maa... Kal Shagun hai.. Toh aaj Shaam ko hum log Khushi ko leke shopping chalein? (Maa.. Tomorrow is the Shagun, Should we take khushi shopping in the evening?" Anjali asked

"Why not... Of course Anu. Garima... You also accompany us" Ratna said happily

"Sure thing Ratna" Garima said
