Rainbow
I stopped to catch a rainbow
And not a single photo did I take.
An ephemeral,
Shimmering,
Temporary thing
Looking down on high at all in its wake.
It's beauty.
So brief,
Just now,
Then gone
Like us,
On leave,
A sabbatical from death.
I stood alone at the point of limbo
A purgatory of rain, cloud, and Sun.
I stopped to catch a rainbow
And not a single photo did I take.
I'd left my phone at home of course
And gladly let the moment pass,
No record did I make.
