Sometimes,
The universe throws us a funny
Curveball,
A black swan
Unexpected in flight.
And so;
As we ate lunch on the balcony,
A wayward thrush
Came overhead into sight.
Crashed into the shutters,
Emergency landed in the living room
We chased the bird,
Into the bathroom,
Cornered and shrieking.
We cast a towel net
Over it
And gently
(After some calming
And soft stroking)
Set It free.
