What was I thinking. That was everything that crossed Hoseok's mind as he saw Yoongi standing so close to his beloved Jimin. The latter frozen in place not even blinking. It was when he saw Yoongi abruptly grabbing Jimin's hands that Hope finally reacted. "Hyung, don't push him" he said in a soft voice. But naturally, Min Yoongi would not listen and right after Hobi had finished his sentence. Suga pushed the fabric of Jimin's hoodie up unveiling exactly what he was looking for. In that exact moment, Yoongi's expression went from angered to dissapointment. None of them speaking a word. It was the exact definition of uncomfortable.
"I promise, I didn't do those" Jimin finally spoke almost whispering. "Then who did?" Hoseok asked but Jimin just moved his head from side to side indicating that he was not going to reveal that information. "Jiminie..." Hoseok said, trying for his voice to sound soft and comforting. However, just as he had initially predicted, Jimin reacted badly. "It doesn't matter who did it! You don't get to accuse me, hyung!" He said in a loud tone that clearly Yoongi hadn't expected. "A lot of idols do this! That's why most of us only wear long sleeves! Maybe even you did at a point! What are you acting so high about, huh?" He completed. Rage, poison and anger filtering in every word he spoke. "Yeah? Let's see about us, then! Let me call the other five in here so they tell you how many times they've done it!" Yoongi threatened, not raising his voice but still using a really harsh tone. Jimin didn't move, his fists were clenched tight and his face suddenly revealed worry.
"How would you feel, Jimin? If you saw those marks on Taehyung or Jungkook? Are you going to justify it under a lame excuse too? Because all idols do it?" Suga said, a tone of dissapointment showing in his voice. Jimin took a deep breath before speaking again. "I didn't do those, I promise" he repeated, clearly taken aback by Yoongi's daring questions. Nothing could be worse in Jimin's mind that any of his members being in pain. Specially the younger ones. "Explain!" Yoongi said as Hoseok took a standing next to Jimin. Of course Hobi knew that Suga was right, but he still didn't want to see his beloved dongsaeng hurting. Whenever Jimin hurt, he hurt as well. "A friend did. He said it would help me" Jimin confessed, his gaze locked on the floor. "Which friend, Jiminie?" Hoseok asked calmly, not really wanting to disturb the, already nervous, boy.
"Jisung" Jimin answered, once again almost whispering. "Koh Jisung? The trainee?" Hobi inquired with Jimin only nodding for confirmation. Koh Jisung had been a trainee under BigHit Entertaiment. He started his training the same year Jimin did. However, he had not been as lucky as Jimin as to debut after only a year of training camp. The guy had however, appeared as a back up dancer for BTS multiple times, appearing in two of their *music videos as a ninja and also as a part of their dancing crew during a good part of their current tour. He was a great performer and his dancing was great. However, due to him already being seven years in training with no plans of debuting and also recently turning 26 years old, he had been let go from the company and now remained as a friend only to Jimin.
"Did he do those? Or did he teach you how to, Jiminie?" Hoseok asked, feeling really mad at the Jisung guy. "Both" the younger responded, setting his left hand on his wrist so that the wounds would be covered. To say that J Hope was upset, was the understatement of the century. He had not seen Jisung in a while yet he couldn't help but feeling pure anger towards him. What kind of friend would ever teach someone how to do this? What the hell was wrong with that guy?! "But why? Are you unhappy?" J Hope asked, once again trying for his voice to be very comforting. Jimin was about to answer, but the crack of the door followed by someone stepping in, interrupted him. "Suga- hyung? We need to leave now if we want to meet PD nim" Joon said, entering into Hobi's and Jimin's bedroom. "What's wrong?" He asked after having noticed the concerned looks Jimin, J Hope and Suga wore.
"Nothing, we were just discussing some lyrics for Jimin. Let's go now" Yoongi quickly said and set an arm to hug Namjoon. Both of them said a kind good bye and left the room discussing some ideas between them. As he watched his hyungs leaving, Jimin was unsure of how he should be feeling now. He was troubled, to say the least. He felt ashamed and exposed but more importantly he felt angry. Not at Jisung, not at himself, not even at Yoongi. He was mad at the snitch that stood right next to him. He felt Hoseok's finger gently pressing his back. "Here, let me help you put your sweatee back on" the older said, the sweetness in his voice would've been undeaniable for every single habitant of the world, except for Jimin.
"Why would you tell him, hyung?" Jimin suddenly asked immediately leaving Hoseok dead in his tracks. "You are the one who knew, right? Why would you tell Suga- hyung?" The younger inquired again, this time turning to look at his hyung. Hoseok knew that unapologetic gaze very well. It was exactly what he has been fearing all along. Hoseok felt lost for words. He didn't know what he could possibly say so that Jimin would calm down. "Jiminie, I- I.." he started but his mind was too blank to actually form a sentence. On the other hand, Jimin had a whole speech ready. Deep down, he knew Hoseok was not the one to blame in this whole situation. But he was the one right there and he was the one who had told his Suga- hyung. So he was the one who would pay the consequences.
"You what? You thought that it would do me good? You didn't even talk to me first!" He said with a really loud tone. Good thing all the walls in the house were soundproof. "You are a coward, hyung! You ran to Yoongi- hyung instead of talking to me directly! I'm so ashamed of you!" He went on, his eyes reflecting a dark tone, that made J Hope quite scared. This had no chance of ending well. Hoseok just kept reminding himself to breathe. It is true that mean words hurt from anybody, but when they come from the person you love the most in the whole world, words don't only hurt, they completely destroy. Jimin kept his rant, calling Hoseok a coward, a snitch, a bad friend and some other names that Hoseok's mind blocked and erased. However, while J Hope kept listening, thinking that it couldn't get any worse, Jimin threw his last shot:
"I hate you, hyung!"
Jimin saw Hoseok's features getting whiter, his eyes widening and his lips parting forming an expression that reflected both shock and pain. He had defenitely gone over the line. He really did want to apologize, he wanted to say that he was sorry, that he hadn't meant it. He knew he had to apologize, still the next words that left his mouth were far from an apology "I don't want to see you anymore! Get out!" He completed with his hands clenched in fists and his head looking down.
Hoseok took another deep breath trying to somehow fill the hole that had just formed in his chest. He wasn't even sure if his heart was still beating after having taken such an attack. He wasn't even going to argue about leaving the bedroom that was also his. He couldn't really form any words, after all. Hoseok walked towards Jimin and handed him the sweater, that until this point, had been in J Hope's hands. The younger took it without hesitation, not even turning to look at his broken hyung. Without further words, Hoseok walked towards the door and exited the room leaving a puzzled Jimin inside.
Hoseok closed the door of his bedroom and immediately leaned his back against it. He felt like his legs were not strong enough to keep him standing. He didn't want to cry, he didn't want to break down. Not more, not anymore. "Hi hyung!" A voice greeted and J Hope instantly threw himself to hug the figure, only realizing that it was Tae after the younger also settled his arms around him. "Shh! Shh! It's okay" V whispered as he stroked J Hope's hair. Taehyung didn't even know what was wrong, but that wasn't going to stop him from comforting his sad brother. J Hope was really grateful for his dongsaeng's affections, pulling him closer into the hug. Deeply hoping for V to be the support that, right now, he could not be for himself. As he felt Tae's long fingers carefully stroking his hair, Hoseok finally figured that he needed to follow Yoongi's advice. It had been five years, he had to move on.
