I walk back to the gymnasium and see Jax lying on the floor, facing the ceiling, with his right hand resting on his forehead.
He's muttering to himself, and occasionally hits the floor with his left hand and cusses.
"J..." but the words don't leave my mouth before Jax springs up and rushes towards me, enveloping me in his arms. I stifle a sigh of relief, before I feel how sweaty he is and how much he has sweat. I quickly spring back.
"Ughhhh! God Jax, you stink!" I yell playfully, and he smiles.
"You know, you'd think that after running a whole lap, you'd be sweating," he chuckles.
Then, his eyes suddenly cloud up, and he sits down. I know what this is about. I bring my hand to his shoulder, but he shakes it away.
"Kate, why did you run away from me?" I let out a shocked gasp, and bring the hand that was previously touching his shoulder to my chest.
"That did not happen! You think that I'd do that on purpose?" Tears well up in my eyes, and Jax looks hurt, but also sad simultaneously.
"I'm sorry Kate, it's just that you make me feel good, and having that feeling interrupted abruptly made me come to that conclusion. I-" I cut his words off by shuddering and crying harder. Jax runs over and cups my face in his hands.
"I'd do anything for you."
With those words, I stop crying, and pull his hands away.
Bang!
I turn around, and see Chelsie standing at the door.
"What's going on here?" she asks in a snake-like voice. Tear marks are still on my face, and she eyes them.
"Ohhh... look at the baby!" she cries with delight in a baby-voice. "You're already in a fight when you guys just hooked up?" she questions, and I feel my face growing hot. Not from embarrassment-from anger. Fury bubbles up, and I can feel that it's reaching its max. I stand up, my fists clenched tightly together, and run towards her. She smirks, and reaches for her hairband. A bright flash of light, then... I see a snow tiger roaring.
If that's how you want to play it...
I reach for my shoes and transform into a cheetah, and unsheathe my claws. I rush towards her, and swiftly leap over. Facing her back with Chelsie confused, I lock my teeth onto her tail, and she lets out an agonizing shriek.
I was waiting for this moment. All those quarrels with her, and in the beginning I thought we were friends. But she betrayed me. She hates me and my friends. She is on the opposing team in this war.
She wails, but snaps her head back and bites into my shoulder. I feel the flesh tearing, so I let go of her tail and claw at her muzzle. She steps back, shakes her head, and drops of blood fly down to the floor. I take advantage of her distraction and charge at her. She turns her tail towards me and starts running.
I smirk. She thinks she can outrun me? I flex my muscles, tense them, and get ready. I dash, and gain on her. My arm muscles strongly bend and stretch, leading me towards her. Opening my jaw, I jump on her back. Startled, she stops abruptly, and I sink my fangs in. Chelsie shakes under me, trying to get me off. But I hold on firmly.
Then, she does the unexpected.
She rolls on her back and crushes me. The wind is knocked out of me, and she jumps up. She paces around me while I struggle for air, and jumps on top of me, looking down on my face.
Her pink tongue slides across her lips, saliva dripping down. Her eyes are crazed, and she looks blood-hungry.
"This is going to be satisfying," she says as she leans down with her jaws open, fangs glinting in the light. Then, she lunges towards my throat, for the death-kill.

This is a short unlucky chapter. (13) Hope you enjoyed the little fighting scene in here, and we can see that Kate's hatred for Chelsie grows. Ooohhh... will Kate die? You'll have to wait for Chapter 14 for that. (wink wink) Thank you so much for supporting this book! Can't wait to write another chapter!
