I smiled, and I went to pick up the gem.
"First order of business, destroy the gem."
I put the gem on the floor, and motioned for Sage to step on the gem. He did, and he let out his frustration by doing so.
After he broke it, the weird swirling red clouds rose up and out of it, disappearing into thin air. The mob stopped, and blinked in confusion. Jax also stopped, and I saw Chelsie stop from her battle with Vera and look over, completely mad.
"WhAt Do YoU ThInK YoU aRe DoIng!?" she shouted, becoming red as a tomato. Louis stopped and snickered.
"Our plan is ruined!" she started sobbing, and yelling.
Her father looked relieved, on the other hand. He grabbed Chelsie, and I said, "Run. Run and never look back. Promise me to never go back to Jalstie, change your names, and live like normal people. Take your pitiful spouse and go," I whispered, and he nodded, and helping his wife up, ran far, far away. Louis looked back at them with longing, but said, "They were never good anyways."
Except I knew that wasn't the end of Chelsie.
I faced the Kakos Lykos, who laughed again. Shaking his head, he slowly stopped and faced us. He was twice as tall as me, and probably three times wider.
"Ah, my great great great grandson," he cooed at Jasper.
"Wait what!?" he shouted.
"You didn't know? After I had Sage, I decided to have another child with my friend's wife," he said, clearly not seeing how messed up it sounded to calmly say, 'Oh I had two children with my friend's wife.' Like what the heck?
"He wasn't as great as his brother, and worthless. I banished him to the forest, where he started another family line of instinct wolf holders. You, my kin, are an ancestor of that bloodline. So, you are related to me and the Jalstones."
Jasper shook his head, whispering 'no' over and over again. The devil wolf found it amusing and simply watched. I saw Sage creeping up from behind his father, ready to strike, but I decided to attack the wolf while he was distracted.
I went for my favorite spot to attack: the eyes. He blinked in confusion, blood dripping, but then healed the wound. I noticed that I had healed all of my wounds without noticing, probably when I was talking with Sage.
I attacked more, and Sage also decided to join in by biting as hard as he could on his father's tail. He howled out in pain, and turned around to face him.
"My own son. I thought you were on my side," he growled, and slowly walked towards him, making him back up.
Just as Sage was about to hit his back on a tree, I signaled Vera, Jax, Louis, and Jasper to attack the devil wolf. They all leaped at once, and Vera, Louis, and Jasper wounded the wolf's limbs so that he collapsed. Jax leaped onto his back and dug his claws in, making sure he didn't escape. Just as I was about to recite the spell, he bunched up his muscles and sprang onto his paws, which were healed.
"Did you think I'd give up that easily?" he whispered, and I was in shock.
He lunged for me, and I dashed to the side. I ran and my friends worked on stopping him from getting to me. I stopped and ran towards them, trying to help them fight back. The wolf caused serious damage, using his long teeth to hurt Vera's wing so she couldn't fly, and reopened the injury on Jasper's leg. Jax had gotten handfuls of his fur pulled out, and I had gotten a bite on my shoulder. Louis had a black eye, and his white fur was streaked with blood from the cuts along his side. I was bleeding, and I couldn't find enough time to heal my wounds. Jax collapsed from exhaustion and pain, leaving me and Sage. His father was so mad, his eyes had gone red. He jumped at Sage, and savagely ripped into his fur and belly. Sage tried rolling over to safety, but that earned him a hard slash on his back.
He was bleeding from every place imaginable, and struggling to get free. I ran towards them without thinking and head-butted his shoulder, making him stagger to the side.
He shook his head, even more angrier.
"YOU! I thought you and your black leopard friend were supposed to be fierce warriors," he said, slinking towards me. "But I have only seen you two pathetically give me a few scratches and run away. You are no heroes."
I was caught off guard by that, and I stopped for a moment. I knew I wasn't a hero, and I was no one special. But I tried because I thought it was the right thing to do.
While I was thinking, the devil wolf had jumped on top of me and had me trapped. I saw his lips pulled back, horrifyingly long fangs on display and a black muzzle twitching with anger. But guess what? His chest was exposed.
While he was ranting on about how easy it was to kill me, Sage saw the moment. He slowly crawled towards us, and in the wolf's talking frenzy, he didn't notice. I was in human form from exhaustion, and Sage passed me something long, sharp, and thin. A knife.
Slowly, I brought it closer to his chest, and right before he was going to bite me, I stabbed his heart. The wolf gasped, and had trouble breathing. Blood was all over my hands, and I got out from under him and removed the knife, only to stab his heart again. In anger, I stabbed his chest so many times, aware everyone, including my parents, were watching. I let my anger, frustration, sadness, and stress escape by stabbing a monster's heart.
The wolf slowly stopped moving, but was still alive... somehow. Sage was quite, but after a while he took the knife from me and said, "I'll end it."
He carved out the wolf's heart, and put it on the floor.
He nodded towards me and said, "Do it."
I had one small ounce of feelings left that I hadn't gotten out yet. Confusion from my love life.
I smashed my foot into his heart, and stomped all over it. This was what my heart was feeling in the inside.
After a minute of madly stomping on a real heart, the flesh was all mushed up and blood was... everywhere.
I collapsed onto the floor, and cried. It was all over. And I had killed someone.
That was my last thought before I blacked out.
