So, everyday, we sneak Louis out, and he teaches us fighting techniques and spells. We learn the basic fighting and defense moves in the first couple of weeks, and the beginnings of the spell, which apparently is in this really old language that instinct holders used back in the days.

We all decided I had to cast it, but just in case, everyone else had to learn it.

Louis told us what to expect when the wolf does show up, and cleared up some questions we had about the legend, and before we knew it, almost 7 weeks had passed. During this time, Louis brought us food and we slept in a part of the garden sheltered by tall trees in a small shed. There were fruits and vegetables, and a stream ran through the garden, too.

During the last week, Louis thought we were ready to learn how to control our instincts magic.

"This is pretty hard, but what you need to do is concentrate on the magic and emotions inside of you. Emotions are strong things that can trigger the magic. Think about your family, and how my parents and sister have kept them locked up. Think about it... does it make you angry?"

We all nodded, and I could really feel those emotions.

Changing into his snow tiger form, he said, "Now, attack me."

Without thinking, I opened my eyes and leaped, claws outstretched, and my speed burst. I chased him down, and Louis was surprised. I gained on him, but my burst of speed was still there, which surprised me. I usually run at my top speed for a couple of seconds, but I've been chasing Louis for a minute or two now. When I reached him, I tripped him and leapt on top of him to nip his ear, claiming victory.

But Louis twisted around, and scratched my belly, which started bleeding, then sat up.

"Now use your rage to heal the wound," he instructed.

I thought about how I need to fight for my family, and how Louis tricked me, and how much I needed to win this. I felt the pain in my stomach numb, and then vanish.

"Incredible," Louis exclaimed. "That healed faster than I thought."

Vera and Jasper battled him, and they both got wounds on their limbs, and they healed them successfully. Jax was next, but this time, Louis attacked first and gave him a severe and deep wound on his neck that trailed down to his shoulder.

He whimpered in pain, but Louis just flicked his tail.

"You will be fighting beside the cheetah, and you will act as the main distraction and fighter. You will need to be able to heal very deep wounds, so heal this one as practice."

Whimpering, Jax closed his eyes, and I saw the wound drying, the blood stopping, and the very edges closing up. The parts that weren't so deep closed up, and disappeared. The more severe and deep part, the middle, took a little longer, and healed until a tiny scratch remained.

"Heal all of it," Louis ordered.

Jax tried, and it took a great deal of effort for him to finish sealing up the cut. Finished, and exhausted, he laid down and rested.

"Good," Louis muttered and walked towards us.

"We shall practice this whole week, until the day before the wolf will appear."

We all groaned, but knew this was necessary for our survival.

The week passed with us doing exactly as he said, using our instincts magic to heal wounds and boost our fighting abilities. I spend more time memorizing the spell, and incorporating my instincts magic to cast it. Luckily, I had enough magic to cast it.

"You want to get rid of the devil wolf, once and for all?" Louis asked one day, and I nodded.

"You'll need to kill it, by ripping out it's tainted and bloodthirsty heart," he said, and I thought about it.

"So subdue him, and then cut his chest open and pull out his heart?"

"And then crush it, stomp on it mercilessly because it deserves no mercy."

I thought about that as the day approached, and I felt like I wasn't ready when the day actually came.
