The day I got released, I went back to my regular schedule with regular classes. The one thing that wasn't regular was the stares people threw at me when I passed them.
Look, she's the one who fought Chelsie.
She's crazy! She has wounds all over herself!
People say that they fought over Jax, how cute... but Chelsie deserves better than him and Kate is such a low life and no one knows her that she doesn't deserve anything at all.
I got a lot of mixed comments and rumors, so I had to keep my head up and show these people I wasn't going to back down. I kept quiet class after class, and didn't look for Chelsie or Jax, instead I kept my eyes glued on the teachers and occasionally looked for comfort from Vera. Jasper, he was a mess. Seeing that devil wolf's eyes for the first time, and seeing me lose the precious life liquid in front of him had shook him to the core.
He usually sat playing with his hands or staring at the tooth necklace of his. He was quiet. This was unusual behavior for him, the one that always joked around and talked loudly. Maybe this was better for him, seeing that he was more concentrated and working on his papers; he was able to get more done and able to turn in work on time.
Regarding training to get stronger to fight Chelsie and my worst nightmare, I was stumped. I had severe injuries, nothing that wouldn't heal, but I wasn't allowed to do things that required a lot of physical strain. This killed me, watching the others run as instinct animals and leaping gracefully from high altitudes to the next. What I noticed was, Chelsie also didn't attend P.E. This means she must've gotten some bad injuries.
So I can do damage, I think with a smirk plastered on my face. Life would be like this until my wounds had healed a reasonable amount, so until then, I sat watching animals exercise.
A week or so later, I was allowed to at least run, and this got me excited. Immediately after school, I gathered Vera, Jasper, and Jax. They sat with their backs pressed across the large mirror in the gymnasium, and stared at me.
"So... what are we doing?" Vera asked. She looked bored, and was fidgeting with her necklace. Vera had also gotten quieter, more distant, though it wasn't that noticeable. I have a feeling she's trying to use her powers of seeing into the future to help us prepare for the fight, in case things go unexpectedly.
"We all have to get faster, and stronger. We should have races, and tests to see if we can outrun the Kakos Lykos, because if he catches us, it's the end," I patiently explain. Vera nods, Jasper looks like he acknowledged me, and Jax just sits tapping his fingers on the floor. He's a little flustered, I can tell. My heart suddenly pounds, but then I have to tell myself to calm down, we need to defeat the nightmare lurking ahead. I catch him staring at me sometimes, but I decide to ignore him.
"Let's take turns running," I suggest, and they all grumble and start running first in their human forms, and then switch into their animal instincts and run.
We do this for two weeks, and I am a little slower, but by the second week, I'm outrunning everyone. I feel happy, and think that if we continue like this, we'll get stronger and more powerful, for sure.
That is, until we hear Chelsie's paying a visit to the Jalstones.

It happened when after one of our little training sessions, and I was on my way to my room, which was mostly empty now. I was walking down like normal, and hear sounds coming from my room. I get on my tippy-toes and walk slowly over to my door, and put my ear against the red door.
"Mother... tomorrow... going... fine."
I hear only some words, and decide to crack the door open a little. I was scared to death I would startle Chelsie, and she would stare me down with her icy eyes and kill me for interrupting her.
The door opens just a bit, and thankfully with little sound.
"You want me to come back to the palace tomorrow! Mother, I would like to, but you know Kate, the rude one? I would like to keep a closer eye on her. The day of war is drawing nearer. Louis? Really? You'll let me see him?"
I stood quietly, sucking up all of the information.
"No! What's the real reason that you're wanting me to go?" There's a long silence, before she speaks again.
"You want me to train at the palace? Are you sure it's not better if I stay here ad train? No, you're right, I'll be with my enemies here, and I'll be able to do more at the palace. Alright mother, I'll arrive later tomorrow."
With that, she clicked off her phone, ad threw it in a small bag. Then, without looking up, she said, "Come out. I know you're there."
Mother of cats, save me.

I'm sooooooo sorry for the short chapters, but I've got a huge project, and it's getting close to the end of the year, so I have to work harder. I'll try to make the next chapters longer, and in a couple more weeks even more longer. I hope.
