Fear will not stop me

I can not do this anymore

Stef stops the car and turns off the engine, trying to decide if she going to get out of the car of make a run for it.

Stef's POV

"Stef. Is that who I think it is?"

"OMG" What the fuck is he doing here? I'm leaving I can take this right now"

" Stef really? Don't be like that. He's probably travelled a long way."

"I don't care. where the fuck has he been?"

"Just talk to him Stef. You know how Mike is. Maybe he's finally come to his senses."

Sarah exits the car and waves at Mike before she enters the house. Stef slowly gets out of the car and walks up to Mike whos leaning on the car.

"What are you doing here Mike?"

"Well I've been calling and texting you for about a month, trying to let you know that I was coming back in town. I've even sent you a couple of emails."

" I haven't received a text or a call from you so please stop with your bullshit."

"Well that's cray because I've even sent messages on Facebook messenger and IG but still no response."

"Oh my God. Are you serious right now? I barely check my social media apps. And what kind of adult tries to communicate through social media anyway when we have cell phones with numbers."

"I have proof on my phone where I've tried to called and text but never heard anything from you really since the last time I was home."

"Show me then because I have received nothing."

Mike looking down at his feet becoming angry. He was trying to work on his angry because the last time he let it escalade he had made the biggest mistake of his life.

"Well you do realize phones work both ways right? Haven't heard from you in awhile but I guess that's nothing new."

"You know what, FUCK YOU MIKE. I don't have to deal with you and these mind games. Last time I check you were the one that left town, because you couldn't control your angry and alcohol. You are the one that asked for a transfers. You. So don't come in here trying to through your weight around because this time I will pull the trigger and wont think twice about it."

Stef starts to walk off towards the house but Mike grabs her to stops her. Stef looking at him like he has lost his mind.

"Look I'm sorry Stef, I really I'm. I didn't come back hear to argue with you or make you feel worst about the situation. I came back to apologize and to just hope that you would forgive me for what I did. The jealously took over me. I never meant to hurt you. And I want you back."

Stef is taken aback by his honesty. She has never seen him this vulnerable before. at this point she really doesn't know what to do. She did still love Mike. They met while they were both in police academy. But she still just couldn't make that next step. She loved him but was not in love with him, which is why he became angry and started drinking because she rejected his proposal. He had assumed that it was because she was in love with Captain Smith. Especially because of the way Stef acting when Him and his wife came over. But little did he know that is was the Captain's wife that Stef was more drawn to. She never told anyone not even Sarah. Because one night he came home drunk again and this time he hit Stef so hard that she flew over the couch. She ran and got her gun and threatened to kill him if he didn't leave their apartment. She knew that he always had angry issue because his dad left the family when he was young. but never in a millions years would she think that he would hit her. That was the last straw.
