One Month

Lena's POV

I just don't know what to do anymore. Stef is married. Why would she keep that from me. I leave Captain Mike Foster's office and head to my car. I get in and drive home then realize that I should go back to school. I really haven't been getting much work done because I have been worried about Stef. I park my car outside of Anchor Beach and walk in. I feel like crap so i'm sure I look like crap also. Im glad that it the weekend. No Parents or students will see me like this. I open my office door and go in and sit behind my desk. Here I am again with another cheater. I never thought that Stef would do this to me. What is wrong with me. do I not show enough love. I put my face in my hands and start to cry. I start to cry hard. So hard that I didn't even here the door open.

"Lena, oh my gosh, are you ok?" I hear Monte say.

I look up and my vision is still blurry from crying. I grab a tissue out of the box on my desk and wipe my eyes. I see her coming to me and put my hand up, as to say please stop. She and I both know that it will only get worst if she touches me. She sits in the chair across from the desk.

"Lena, What's wrong? did something happen? Please tell me so I can help."

"Why did you cheap? Was Sarah not enough for you?" I spit out angry because my own issues.

She is taken aback and I immediately regret my actions

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to take out my frustrations out on you. I just don't understand it. Did you know that Stef was Married?"

"Married? No Lena. She cant be. I have never heard Sarah of Stef talk about a husband."

"Well I just came from the Police station and I met a guy name Mike FOSTER."

"Wait. Foster?"

"Yes!"

"There has to be an explanation for it though Lena. Calm down, let me phone Sarah."

She pulls out her phone and starts to dial Sarah's number just as she is walking into Lena's Office.

"Hey, there you are. I went to your office and couldn't find you. Hey, Lena how are you?"

"Not to great Sarah. I met Mike today."

"Mike. Mike F..Foster?"

"That would be the one. He told me that him and Stef are married."

"Ha, yeah he wishes," She says laughing."

"So they are not married," Monte says

I stare at her hoping that the next words out of her mouth is no.

"Hell, no. They got a divorce almost 5 years ago. Plus he is a lying, abusive, bastard. He just came back in town about a week ago trying to get back with Stef but she refused. He is probably the reason no one knows where Stef is."

I am somewhat relived. I guess Stef really didn't have time to tell me all this. I mean we have only know each other for 3 week or so. Sarah was right about one thing though, he is a horrible person. Stef wouldn't take him back so he sends her away. No telling when ill see her again.

"Oh yeah Lena, this letter came to Stef's Apartment with your name on it. I've been hanging onto it for a couple of weeks."

She hand me the letter. I take it and look for an return address but there is non. I don't recognize the writing on it and can barely read my name. I open the letter and surprise to see that it is a letter from Stef.
