"Hey. Where the heck are you going?" Jaehyun's voice echoes across the whole room, making you stop your tracks, your hand already on the door knob.
Jaehyun just woke up to get a glass of water as he saw you leaving.
"So again, where are you going?" He asks when you don't respond and just remain frozen in your spot.
You purse your lips as you turn to face your brother. "y/n-"
"-Yukhei invited me to go star gazing. He said that a shooting star would show at around 1:27 am"
It had been over a week since you met the guy and ever since the two of you have been hanging out a lot.
"Here we go again with that Yukhei guy" Jaehyun says with a sigh as he walks over to the fridge to get a drink.
As your brother's pouring water in a glass that he got, you just blankly stare at him, waiting for him to say something.
"Well just make sure that you don't get late for school tomorrow" Jaehyun mutters he puts away his glass in the sink, already walking back to his room.
You stare at your brother in shock. "That's it?"
"What do you mean 'That's it'?" Jaehyun asks sleepily, turning to face you once again.
"I mean- No sermon, no 'how could you be alone with a guy like him' no-"
"-y/n, it's late. I'm sleepy. I'm not the normal kind of brother. And I know that you can handle yourself so go before I change my mind"
And with that Jaehyun goes back to his room.
~~~~~
"y/n?"
Your eyes go wide at the sound of the voice and you feel butterflies in your belly at the way he called your name but you tell yourself that you're just imagining things.
Sometimes, you wondered why your stomach would still do flips every time your name would roll off of his tongue.
"And might I ask what you're doing here Tae?" You ask with a brow arched, turning to face the guy.
"I just needed to clear my head" He muttered.
Silence fills the air after that and Taeyong clears his throat before he speaks once again.
"So mind telling me why you're here? It's late and-"
"-y/n!" The sound of someone calling you cuts Taeyong off and you both turn your attention to Yukhei who was jogging towards you.
Yukhei flashes you a smile, though as soon as he sees Taeyong, a flash of familiarity with a hint of shock gets painted across his face.
"Do you two know..." Yukhei trails off, still staring at Taeyong.
You glance at Taeyong and vice versa before he speaks.
"Thanks. But I'll look for the park office on my own" He suddenly says to you with a smile before jogging off.
'What a smart ass' You thought to yourself as you watched him jog away.
'But why did a part of me still want to continue talking to him'
Yukhei noticed how a pout formed on your lips as Taeyong walked away.
And at that moment, Yukhei knew that you two knew each other despite the fact that Taeyong acted as if he didn't.
But at that moment, Yukhei realized other things.
Why did he hate how sad you looked as Taeyong walked away?"Do you know him?" Yukhei asks, snapping you out of some trance. You blink a few times, still looking a little dazed.
And Yukhei didn't know why but the first thing that popped in his head was the word 'cute'. He even thinks that he muttered it but when you continue to stare at him, as if silently asking him to repeat his question he sighs in relief before repeating what he said.
You hesitate to answer at first.
For some reason you wanted to say yes. Because that single answer held all of your pent up emotions. But you knew better."No... Do you?" You ask back.
You knew that something was wrong. Any normal person would just shrug it off but the fact that Yukhei kept asking if you knew Taeyong and looked as though he even recognized the guy was bothering you.
"No... Why would I know him?"
He sounded defensive.
"You seemed familiar with him"
"Let's look at the stars, yeah?"
You remained silent at that.
Maybe you were just being paranoid but why did he suddenly change the topic?
