"TAKE ME WITH YOU!" You whine, thrashing around your best friend's bed as you watched him pack his things.

It was the summer after freshman year and right now you found yourself in Chenle's bedroom, supposedly helping him pack things for his trip back to China.

"If only I could. But sadly, this trip is more of business rather than a family vacation" Chenle mutters, flashing you a sad smile.

You sigh. "YAH! ZHONG CHENLE! I'M TRYING TO LIGHTEN THE MOOD HERE OKAY? SO CHEER UP NOW!" You scream, throwing a pillow at him.

"HEY THOSE ARE MY PILLOWS!" He screams back, picking up the one you threw at him and throwing it back at you.

"YAH! WHEN YOU COME BACK FROM CHINA YOU BETTER STILL BE SINGLE OKAY?"

Chenle stares at you with wide eyes. "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?! You sound as if you're in love with me"

Chenle teases when his initial shock disappears, a smirk now plastered on his face.

"Fuck off! I'd rather eat dirt than date you! It's just that rich families usually have arranged marriages and I know that you hate that shit so if your dad tries to force you, say no!" You say with a worried expression, hugging one of his pillows.

Chenle just chuckles before approaching you and sitting beside you, patting your head.

"Don't worry. I won't let my old man do that to me y/n" He says reassuringly.

"Good"

"Hey Jae, what the heck is going..." You trail off as you watch your brother pack his bags.

You had just got home and were about to ask your brother if wanted to do something normal like go to mall since you and him haven't done mundane stuff in a while but stopped when you entered his room to see him packing up.

"Oh! y/n!" Jaehyun says, shocked to see you. "I didn't here you get in"

"Ah.. um, you left your bedroom door open..." As you spoke, you continued to stare at the luggage, suddenly feeling uneasy.

You didn't know why but something just felt wrong.

"y/n... we need to talk"

~~~~~
"WHAT?! JAE N-"
"-Its just for a month or so" Jaehyun says, trying to calm you down, but his words only give the opposite effect.
"A MONTH?! YOU MEAN YOU  EXPECT  ME TO LET YOU GO ON A DANGEROUS MISSION ALONE FOR A WHOLE FUCKING MONTH?!" You scream.
Your brother sighs before walking out of the room and heading to the kitchen to get a drink.
"JAE WE'RE NOT DONE TALKING HERE!" You nag, following your brother out.
Jaehyun had just told you that Taeyong wanted to make a deal with some people from the sketchy side of town and that he had volunteered to do it.
"y/n, I'm going on this mission okay?!"
"Can't you take anyone with you?! Why can't Taeyong do it himself!?" You ask, continuing to pester your brother.
He just sighs once again, looking done with the whole thing.
"y/n I already explained to you why I can't do that. I can't take anyone with me because that would draw suspicion and make it seem as if I don't trust them and Taeyong can't go because they already know about him and think that he doesn't do business well"
It's your turn yo sigh and you head to the fridge to get a glass of water to calm yourself down.
You already got used to your brother going on dangerous missions but it was because he always had someone else with him to have his back.
Jaehyun was the only family that you  had left and despite him not being home all of the time, you do admit that you cling onto him for support.
"So you're gonna trick them?" Your voice comes out as a whisper this time.
"No. Taeyong wants to make a deal but we're doing it under my name so that the possibility of them accepting it is bigger"
Jaehyun was checking the cupboards to see if you had enough food stocked for a while  but the sound of glass breaking halts his actions and he turns to see your numb self with broken glass surrounding your feet.
"Jae I'm not allowing you to go!"
"You're my younger sister, you have no say in this!" He says jokingly, once again trying to lighten the mood as he heads over to get the broom and dustpan for the broken glass.
"WOOJAE IM SERIOUS!"
Jaehyun's eyes go wide at that and he quickly turns his head back at your direction, glaring at you. "I told you not to call me that y/n" he mutters, sounding irritated.
Although, now he knew how serious you actually were. Woojae was what your parents and you yourself used to call Jaehyun. But after they passed away, it was something that you silently decided not to call him anymore because it reminded you of your parents too much.
Jaehyun sighs before he moves the two of you away from the broken glass and pulls you into a brotherly embrace.
The gesture breaks the dam of tears that you've been trying to hold back and you cry as you hold him close.
"I know that you're scared. But I promise that I'll return as soon as I can. And when I get back, we can go have ice cream at mom's favourite place okay?"
And all you could do was nod your head.
