My eyes fluttered and bright lights were shining directly in my face. I rubbed circles around my eyes and that only made my sight hella blurry. I was finally aware of my surroundings and realized where I was. I saw Levi sitting next to me reading a magazine.

"Oh good, you're awake," Levi said with relief, chucking the magazine on the stand.

"Where am I?" I questioned, blinking a couple times. "How long have I been in here?"

"To answer that first part, in a bed," he said. "A hospital bed. Maybe about five hours. You were shot, remember?"

Oh yeah, how could I forget?

"Kellin...where's Kellin?!" I panicked.

"Shh, he's alright." Levi pointed across the room to someone laying on the couch. "He's asleep. He's been like that ever since you came in here."

I looked at him in a confused way.

"When I carried you to the van, he thought you were dead. Well, technically, you were. Your heart stopped by the time I walked out of the brothel. Kellin went insane and started pounding on your chest to get your heart pumping again. I didn't know whether I should stop him or something, but I knew that he was just trying to revive you. I've seen things like that happen on TV before. so I let him be to help you. When you finally breathed in, he was in so much shock that he passed out. He woke up for about a minute on our way here and then fell asleep. I had to carry him in here because I know you told me to protect him. But he's alright now and so are you."

"Levi, that's so...sweet. I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything. I'm just glad everyone is okay."

"But Jack?" I asked.

He shook his head. "That poor guy risked his life to save you and Kellin. At least his life didn't go to waste."

"I agree," I told him. "And Oli?"

"Oli is fine, too. His gunshot wound is taking a toll on his body at the moment, but he should be fine."

My chest was in so much pain. "Shit, what the fuck did these doctors give me? I can barely move my body. I'm so weak," I said, trying to sit up.

"Something to easy away your pain."

"This hurts more..." I looked over at Kellin. "Do you think he'll care if we wake him up?"

"Not at all. In fact, he probably wants to see you awake anyways." Levi walked over to Kellin and gently woke him up. I saw Kellin rub his eyes.

"Kellin," I whispered.

Kellin jumped up when he heard me and sprang himself onto the bed, clinging to the sheets.

"Can you give us a minute?" I asked Levi.

"Yeah. I'm gonna go to the cafeteria and get something to eat."

I looked at Kellin again. "Hey," I said softly, holding his face.

His eyes began to form tears in his eyes. The look of frustration and defeat in his eyes pained me.

I held onto his hand. "Don't cry. I'm okay, I promise," I assured him.

Kellin breathed out heavily and rested his head on my stomach. I saw a couple tears escape his peripheral, not bothering to wipe them away.

"Kels, hey...." I tried to get his attention. "Kellin, look at me." He finally lifted his head up. "I'm alright," I reassured him. "Lay with me." I lifted the sheet up and he climbed underneath, cuddling himself up to me.
