Malec- Life After [COMPLETED]

Alec POV
2 weeks later

The whole family sat in the living room doing their own individual thing. Izzy and Clary sat on the couch painting each others nails, Jace and Magnus had remote controls in their hands concentrating on the game in front of them, whilst Matt sat on Magnus' lap causing Magnus to lose because Matt was playing with the controls. Robert and Maryse sat by the table in the corner drinking they're tea laughing and watching the kids in front of them. Whilst all this was happening Alec sat on the armchair by the couch with Emma snuggled up to him on his lap asking all sorts of questions, but the most famous one of the day was;

"Is santa almost here yet?" Emma asked getting a little impatient

"He'll be here in 5 days honey, and you and Matt will wake up and you'll have lots of presents and we'll have some food it will be fun" I told her for the fifth time.....TODAY

"Okay, I can wait" Emma said "Dada?"

"Yes honey?"

"Aunt Izzy and aunt Clary we're talking and....." Izzy and Clary's heads popped up at the sound of their names

"What were they talking about my dear?" I asked Emma but looking straight at Izzy and Clary wondering what have they said to my daughter

"What's a soulmate?" This was new she's never asked this before

"Oh this is gonna be good" Jace said smiling at me as he and everyone stopped what they were doing to hear what i could possibly say to answer that question.

I looked at everyone but then looked straight back down at Emma and looked her in the eyes. "It's uh...well, it's like a best friend. But more" I smiled to myself happy with my answer but then realised she wanted more when she looked unsatisfied so I continued "It's the one person in the the world who knows you better than anyone else. It's someone who makes you a better person. Actually, they don't make you a better person you do that yourself. Because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone you carry with you forever. It's the one person who knew you and accepted you and believed in you, before anyone else did. Or when no one else would. And no matter what happens, you'll always love them and nothing can ever change that" I smiled down at her

"Dada, is Papa your soulmate?" she asked me looking me straight in the eyes and I told her exactly what I thought in my heart

"Yes" It was as simple as that, I didn't need an explanation for why he is, he just is. And I didn't need any reasons to make that point, I only needed those three letters. There's no backstory to why he's my soulmate, he just is.

"Papa" I heard Matt whispered, as he pulled down on Magnus' shirt "Is Dada you're soulmate?"

"Always" Magnus said looking up at me smiling.

By 9:30 the twins had gone to sleep, and it was just the us grown ups that were awake now; if you don't count the one in Clary's belly that is.

We talked played some games and we were now playing charades.

Jace got up and read the card and smiled, but seemed to internally smack himself no idea why.

"Damn Simon ain't here but Alec you'll do, come here" Jace told me

I read the card and wondered why he needed me for this and why Simon too.

"What do I have to do with that?" I asked

"Oh if you guys still lived here you would know" Jace said

"So I'm not gonna know this at all?" Magnus asked

"Nope, now Alec stay there" Jace told me and I obeyed no idea why I did, but I did.

I stood there as Jace wrapped his arms around my neck and his legs around my waist and just hung there.

"What the hell does this have to do with-"

"PANDA" Izzy yelled cutting me off

"Yes, whoo" Jace said giving her a high five

"How?" I asked

"It's his and Simon's thing" Clary said

"Didn't realise you and Simon had a thing" Magnus said raising his eyebrows

"It's not that sort of thing you idiot, shut up" Jace said slumping onto the couch

"Okay my turn" Magnus said

He stood up and took a card off the stack and put it back down preparing himself.

He held his stature and lifted his arms and began moving them around and wiggling his fingers and pretending to throw things I guess.

"Have you started yet?" Jace asked

"Yes I have started"

"Sorry I thought you were warming up" He said

"Oh he warms up in a totally different way" I said before realising what I had said

"Dude" Jace said laughing "You are lucky mom and dad left before you said that" he carried on laughing slapping my shoulder

"Can we forget I said that" I told them

"Oh dear you are never letting that one down, even I know that" Magnus said sitting beside me giving up on his turn.

"I'm tired I'm gonna go to bed, good night" Clary said giving Jace a kiss on the cheek

"Night" He said back to her

We ended our night like that, we watched a quick movie and went to bed we have an early morning tomorrow, Izzy wants to drag us out to do some shopping for Christmas, apparently she hasn't done all her Christmas shopping yet. To long day ahead.
