Malec- Life After [COMPLETED]

A dad's life

Magnus POV
"Good, I love you bye" Magnus said

"I love you too, bye" and I hung up the phone.

Magnus put down the phone and looked towards Matt and Emma who returned to playing with the blocks trying to make a tower. They try to build it as high as they can but when they can't reach the top anymore Matt tries to stand up, using the tower of blocks to help him up. But the tower fell and so did Matt which sent him into one of his moments, tears running down his face. Magnus instantly got up off the couch and went to him picking him up in his arms, he sat down on the floor leaning back on the coach Matt on his lap still crying. Emma who obviously had no idea what is happening crawled over to them, trying to join in on the hug.

Magnus brought her closer with his free arm picking her up onto his lap while she nuzzled her head into the crook of his neck. They both now were yawning and were laying their heads on Magnus' shoulder rubbing their eyes. Soon enough they both ended up falling asleep there, they looked so peaceful. Matt's cheeks were red after crying but had toned down slightly. Magnus held onto them standing up onto his feet as he heard the front door open.

"Magnus you here?" Alec's voice came from down the hallway

Magnus entered the hallway and saw his beautiful Alexander, who was also with a young man. Will I'm guessing.

"Shh hey" Magnus said whispering so he didn't wake the twins

Alec turned around from closing the door and looked straight at Magnus and the twins he was holding, both their heads comfortably laying on his shoulder.

"Hey, are they asleep, sorry" Alec said walking up to them. He kissed them both on their heads, which they both had Alec's dark black hair growing. He didn't kiss Magnus not wanting to risk waking up them both.

"Yeah they just fell asleep, I was about to put them down in their room" Magnus said

"Okay here" Alec gently took Emma out of Magnus' arms taking her in his own. She stirred but didn't wake up. "Oh yeah I forgot, Mags this is Will, Will this is Magnus" He said to the both.

"Hey" Will said

"Hi, its good to meet you" Magnus said shaking Will's hand with his other hand

"You too" Will said

"Let us put these two down and we'll be right back out" Magnus said, they both directed Will to the living room telling him to sit while they went off to the twins' room.

"So how've they been?" Alec whispered while putting Emma down in her crib

"They've been great, but Matt tried to stand earlier and fell. He cried so much it broke my heart" Magnus said putting Matt down in his crib

Alec stepped closer to Magnus and wrapped his arms around Magnus' waist, Magnus slowly lay his head on Alec's shoulder. Alec chuckled

"I know it's stupid" Magnus said covering his face.

"Hey" Alec said placing his palms on Magnus' cheeks forcing him to look up at him "it's not stupid, not at all" Magnus scoffed "I'm serious, you are just as much of a farther to them as I am. You've been there for them since they were born, you're there when they wake up in the middle of the night. So no it's not stupid that you worry about them" Magnus smiles at Alec "What?"

"Nothing I just, I love you so much" Magnus said

"I love you too" They shared a brief kiss before remembering about Will and left the babies to sleep entering the living room.

"Hey" Will said "Ready for the assignment?" Alec nodded and sat down begging their work whilst Magnus went off to do his own thing.

It took them about 2 hours to come up with ideas that they will present at class tomorrow if they get asked a question. When they finished they fell back onto the couch and sighed glad that they were finally done. Magnus came out with a now awake Matt feeding him his bottle, he sat down in his seat looking up at the both.

"You guys done?"

"Yeah all done" Will said

"Finally" Alec said now sitting up on the couch "Em still asleep?"

"Yeah, this one woke up all on his own just laying in his crib" Magnus said, as on queue Em began crying so Alec stood up and left. "So Will how's college, I'm guessing you're also doing Law" Magnus said while keeping an eye on Matt readjusting his arm so it will be more comfortable for the baby.

"Yeah it's going great, our teacher Chase-"

"Wait you call your teacher by his first name?" Magnus asked

"Yeah I told us we can if we want" Magnus nodded his head directing Will to continue "well he said that he's gonna pick 5 out of the whole class to help him on a case, and don't tell Alec I told you this but I think he might end up getting picked"

"Oh that's great, hope you get picked too"

"Picked for what?" Alec asked joining in on the conversation sitting down feeding Emma

"Oh Will was just telling me about your teacher and picking students to help him on a case"

"Ye I'd love to get chosen for that it would be a great opportunity"

"Do you know what the case is about?"

"No not yet, we find out tomorrow"

Matt had finished his bottle so Magnus picked him up and began burping him.

"That's great, I hope you both get chosen"

"Yeah it's only for this case though, apparently he does it once a year with every class at the beginning to see how they do so we can't mess up if we get chosen" Will said

"We would embarrass ourselves before the year had begun" Alec said laughing

Will's phone rang so he excused himself as he left the room to pick it up. We he came back in he told us that it was his friend Tessa and that he was gonna leave now. After their brief goodbyes the back door shut and it was back to their normal routine of just the four of them.

Magnus stood up with Matt joining Alec and Emma on the couch, Magnus lay his head on Alec's shoulder and Alec wrapped his arm around his back bringing him closer. Matt and Emma gurgled also snuggling in closer with their dads. Too bad they weren't tired and tried to escape from their dads arms, once they did they began crawling off.

"A day in a dads life" Alec said causing Magnus to laugh as they chased them through the house.
