25. Everlasting happiness?

It felt like eternity.

Or the time stopped, she wasn't sure. Her heart wasn't able to start beat again, causing her breathing problems at the same time. Her eyes automatically found her fathers, seeing the horror in his, when he made a contact with her. His face grew still, as he glanced at his other daughter, who was standing by hers and Baekhyun's table.

Dee glanced on other two faces, looking their way. Judging from their slightly bored expressions, with hint of curiosity, the woman and other man didn't have a tiny bit of a clue, what is happening right now.

Dee couldn't control her reactions though. Her hands started to shake and once gained peace, thanks to Baekhyun, was now gone forever.

"Dee, are you okay?" she heard Soojye asking her, but she was too shook. She looked up, to meet her friend's eyes, but she only found a concern about Dee's mental health in them. She was sure this girl didn't have an idea that she is now looking at her half-blood sister. Dee's head started to hurt from the amount of thoughts, swirling in her head, like flock of bewildered birds, not letting her think straight.

"Dee, let's go," someone nudged her shoulder, realizing that Baekhyun is here with her. She almost started to cry in relieve, he is here to save her. But she didn't know yet, the worst is still to come. She got up on her feet, giving Baekhyun grateful look. His face was straight, not giving away what he thinks. But when he took her hand in his, she noticed, that he is trembling, in anger.

"I'm sorry we have to..." Baekhyun wanted to excuse them and go, but when they turned back to face Soojye, three more persons appeared behind her, with smiles on their faces. That gave Dee another shock. She squeezed Baek's hand and unconsciously shifted towards him.

"Sorry to disturb you two from the dinner. My wife and son wanted to meet you too, mister Byun," her father spoke first. Baekhyun next to her, stiffened. It didn't matter how much is she shaken, the man next to her was about to explode. She had to do something. She lifted her free arm and hugged the one he was holding her with, pressing herself close to him.

Don't Baekhyun, let's just go, now!

She was trying to send him a message without talking. Trying to calm him down, distracted her from this absurd situation.

"It's pleasure to see you in person. Soojye was so excited to start as a trainee in the company. She doesn't stop bragging about you," the woman, standing by her dad's side took the opportunity, thanks to the awkward silence, to speak up. Dee couldn't help and glanced at Soojye, who was now bright red in the face.

"Mom!" she hissed at her mother, then looking quickly at Dee, giving her apologizing gaze.

"Soojye is good friend of my girlfriend," Baekhyun finally said something, finally pointing out at the fact that she is not invisible. All four pairs of eyes landed on her. Her dad's wife was obviously judging her. Dee fidgeted uncomfortably.

"Oh yes, I heard about this girl from the news and all. She is trainee in your company too dad, isn't she," the boy exclaimed, eyeing her out. Why is everyone talking like she is not present? She was on the edge of decision to grab Baekhyun and run. But she had enough of running.

"Yes, she is," Director Kim agreed, avoiding Dee's eyes.

"I'm sorry, but we have to go. It was pleasure to meet you all," Baekhyun gritted out, not caring that it probably came out rude. Before she could even open her mouth and finally say something, he headed out of the restaurant, dragging her behind him, not losing grip on her.
