One Year Later

Stevie was in her daughter's room with her, helping her get ready for her big day. The dress was astonishing and her hair and makeup were perfect. They ended up using Stevie and Lindsey's home for the wedding. They all thought an at home, outside wedding would be beautiful and simple. And it was all of the above.

"You look so beautiful, baby," Stevie said through slight tears. She was so happy that she was there for her baby girl.

"Thank you, mommy. Please, stop crying---I'm not dying, I'm not leaving forever. I'm going on my honeymoon and it's only for a week."

"I know, but--" she got cut off.

"Are you decent?" Lindsey shouted as he knocked on the door.

"Yeah!" Lucy chuckled. "Come in."

Lindsey walked in and got a great look of his daughter. Her dark brown curls were in a beautiful up do and small pieces fell to frame her face. She had the most beautiful gown on and it was strapless, form fitting on top and it fell to the floor. It would drag on the floor, but she loved it. She had a small tiara, that clipped her veil in place.

"Awe, you look beautiful, honey."

"Thank you, daddy," she hugged him, seeing that tears were building in his eyes. He hugged her tightly and put a gentle kiss upon her forehead. "Ugh, you guys are terrible. You're making me cry," she said as she fanned her eyes a little.

"We're sorry, baby. It's not everyday, you hand your baby to someone else," Stevie mentioned.

"I know, I know. You mentioned. By the way, dad? lookin' pretty hot there. Trying to get lucky?" she asked nudging him in the arm.

He chuckled and looked at Stevie. "I don't know. Am I getting lucky?"

Stevie blushed. "Alright, enough," she chuckled. "Let me get my dress on. Lindsey, I need you to zip me."

"Sure thing," he smiled.

Stevie walked away and went to put the dress her daughter chose on. "So what color is she wearing? I know you didn't put her in black," he asked.

"Wait till she comes out," she winked, checking her makeup. "Anyway, is everyone out there?"

"Mhmm, mostly. Just a couple guests are running late, but all the important people, who were top on your list are here."

"Sweet! this is so exciting."

"I can tell, you're very glowy," he added.

"Am I?"

He nodded.

"Ya ready?" Stevie shouted.

"Yes!" they both responded.

"Okay," she came out and stood in a beautiful, deep red dress. Chiffon of course and it was just above her knee and very form fitting. It had long sorcerer sleeves and it was very Stevie for a dress her daughter designed for her mom. Lucy had coordinated for her dad's button up to be the same shade of red.
