Maeryn had a quiet day in the cafe, which was a good thing because the boy from yesterday kept her thoughts busy. She wanted to know who he was and if his voice would be as beautiful as he was. She once more let her memories of him play in her head. His brown hair, his pale and spotless face, skin that seemed to look like porcelain, a perfect straight nose, pale red, slightly full lips and his eyes. His strange, violet eyes, which seemed to make him more unlikely to exist.
A small cough brought Maeryn out of her thoughts. A small blush of shame formed onto her cheeks as she looked up. "Scusi. How can I help you." Maeryn said but her blush only grew as she saw the same man she had just been daydreaming about. This time he wore a different yet still oldfashioned coat, along with black trousers and neat shoes. He gave her a small smile that would have made her faint if she wasn't holding onto the counter. "One coffee, per favore." he said. Maeryn had been right. His voice was just as alluring, melodic, and seductive as he was. Maeryn quickly recovered herself and gave him a small smile back. "Certo." she replied as she turned around to make his coffee. Maeryn shaked slightly as she could feel his violet eyes following her every move. She placed his drink onto the counter and gave him another small smile while holding onto the counter to stop her shaking. "1,50, per favore." The man smiled at her and gave her a 2 euro coin. "You can keep the change." he said as he grabbed his cup and sat down in a corner in the shop. Maeryn made her way to the back of the shop and tried to calm her heart down. This wasn't natural. No normal humanbeing could have such a reaction from her. But maybe he isn't human. A small voice in the back of Maeryn's head spoke. Maeryn rolled her eyes at her own thoughts and took another deep breath before returning to the front of the shop and refilled another customers mug.

The man stayed until closing time, reading a book and sipping his coffee. But, Maeryn couldn't help but feel like he was watching her. Which was absurd, obviously. Why would such a beautiful creature even take a second glance at her. It was stupid.
Exactly two minutes before closing time, the man stood up and brought his cup to the counter. "Thank you for your hospitality." he said politely and treated her to another small smile. Maeryn surpressed another blush and nodded her head. "No problem." she said as she grabbed the mug and turned around to put it into the dishwasher. She waited until she heard the small bell above the door rinkle, but it never came. Maeryn turned back around and he was still standing there. "I believe I have been impolite. I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Alec." he said as he reached his hand out for her to shake. Maeryn found his behavior rather odd, as no one has ever introduced themselves to her, but she shook his hand nontheless. "Maeryn." she said and gasped slightly at the coldness of his skin. Alec pulled his ahnd back gently and smiled once more. "Thank you once more. Have a pleasant day." he said before leaving the cafe, leaving Maeryn with a racing heart once more.

Alec was making his way back to the castle when the young woman, who had visited the cafe yesterday made her way towards him. "Did you had fun today, brother?" the woman asked. Alec nodded his head. "Yes. I actually did, sister." Alec replied as he and his sister continued to walk to the castle. "Does she know? About her gift?" the woman asked. Alec shook his head. "I don't think so, Jane. Truth be told, she seems to lead a quiet life here." he replied. Jane sighed softly. "A quiet life that will soon be turned upside down." she whispered. "Don't tell me you are feeling sorry for the human girl?" Alec said, teasing his little sister. Jane scoffed. "Ofcourse not. The girl is better off as one of us, seeing as her gift is rather powerfull." Jane said. Alec chuckled and kissed his sisters cheek. "I was only teasing you sister." he said. Jane scoffed once more and playfully pushed him away. Alec chuckled once more as they continued their walk. "Do you think she is your mate?" Jane asked after a few minutes of silence. "Master Marcus thinks so, and I do have to admid that I would want nothing more than to drain her, that is how luring her blood is to me. But I am not sure. The most important thing is that she trusts me so that her loyalty will lay with the Volturi before we change her." Jane nodded her head. "And before Munin gives her memories of that evening back. I hope she can handle them" Jane murmered the last phrase silently. But Alec had heard her and chuckled once more. "So you do have a soft spot for the human?" "Oh, shut it." Jane said before entering her room. Alec walked into his own room and laid down on his bed, thoughts filled with Maeryn. He couldn't wait to see her again tomorrow. Maybe, just maybe Marcus was right and was Maeryn his, and he hers.
