It's not easy being a Tokubetsu. Though you have to be glad to finally know what's wrong with you. Not too long ago I found out all of this. Including meeting the shadowy man for the first time. Ever since then it would seem most demons or magic would try to avoid me. It seems only the shadowy man is breaking that.

I was grateful as soon as that bell rang. School was finally over so I could go to the Omin. School felt strange today. Most people wouldn't look at me and if they did they would glance quickly away when I met eye contact. Even Aria didn't come to tease me about what ever I did wrong this time.

Tristan didn't talk to me though I saw him at lunch and in one other of my classes. Masai I didn't actually see anywhere. He wasn't in any of his classes. And besides Tristan, I don't think I've seen a single demon today. It was unusual.

I walked home as quickly as I could so I could get to a private area before shadow jumping to the Omin. I wasn't that excited to travel through the Umbre after last night but I knew it was the only way to get to the Omin. I would just have to face the shadowy man when I got there.

When I got home I ran to the forest near by. It was still one of my favorite places to go. Being there, I closed my eyes and prepared to teleport. My body shifted into the shadows. I was in the Umbre for only a few breif seconds. The shadowed man didn't stop me even though I saw a glimpse of him as I teleported away. What was he planning?

I expected to teleport into that half way point like last time by the gates but I was right next to Tristan's house when I formed again. I was back to my new form like last time. I expected to hear an alarm from me straight on teleporting here or a few guards to check me out but there was nothing.

I was utterly shocked. Did they have any protection against magic? Anything at all? No wonder the shadowed man could get here easily. Masai's lucky that he needed me to kill him or he would be long dead.

I knocked on Tristan's door. Koro came to open it. His eyes lit up when he saw me.

"Kai! Your here! Are you here to train with me? Tristan's always busy so I usually train by myself. That's why I want to train with you!" He said cheerfully.

I laughed. "Ya, I'll help you train. I can also help you with some ancient knowledge. Tristan said you were interested in it."

Koro nodded. "It's just so interesting. Right now I'm working on some kind of code using symbols. It seems that no one else knows the language so it's hard. Hardly any books mention it either."

I nodded. "It happens to be a dead language. Though I do know it if you would like me to help," I said.

Koro nodded excitedly. "Thank you so much. Here, come in." Koro stepped aside so I could enter the cottage. I smiled at him as I walked through the door.

"This language is quite ancient. I don't even know what it was originally called. Though you can tell it excisted. Even this village is a reminder of it. Why the language died I have no idea," I said to Koro, walking into the warm room. The fireplace was on, aluminating the room with heat.

I stopped to turn to face Koro who had just closed the door and was walking over to me. "So what do we start with? Training or learning?" I asked him.

Koro paused to think about it. As he thought about it, I thought about strategies of teaching. I didn't know what kind of learner he was in both combat and knowledge so I may need to try a few different teaching ways.
