II: house
Walking into Andrew's house is like walking into a modern day castle. It's so tall and elegant. The floor is pearl white and the counters are a delicate black marble. The sofas and chairs are all comfortable and everything is so neat. There's a separate room filled with just books. I could get lost in there any day. Evelyn starts gazing at all the expensive items the house carried and Jason goes straight to Andrew's room. I feel a rush of excitement to see his room. It's as if I'm getting to see a new part of him. Evelyn pulls me out of the immense library and we walk upstairs. Andrew follows behind us and leads us to his room.
The first thing I see in his room is a giant frame with pictures of him with a bunch of his friends. His bed is a huge king sized mattress with black and blue striped sheets and covers.
Andrew catches me blushing and he comes over and places his arms around me for a couple seconds. Evelyn and Jason start laughing and Jason jumps on the bed and turns on the T.V.
Evelyn sits in Andrew's resting chair and I stand there awkwardly after Andrew walks over to Jason and sits next to him on the bed. I walk over to the other side of the bed and hop onto Jason's other side. I check my phone and I don't have any notifications. Which is perfect. I don't need to worry about any of that right now.
Jason turns on some horror movie that's so cheesy, we're actually laughing. Andrew goes downstairs to make some popcorn and I follow too.
"Hey," he says, as he's looking in the pantry for the popcorn bags.
I sit at the stool in front of the island in the middle of their huge kitchen. Andrew plops the bag into the microwave and starts it.
"Hey," I say, shyly.
"You ok?"
"Yeah, your house is just so beautiful!" I laugh.
"Well thank you! My mom is currently on a cruise she won tickets for. That's why it's so clean because they're usually the ones that leave the mess and I have to cook, clean, and do everything else," he chuckles and my whole entire body melts into the seat and into a puddle on the floor of just pure feelings and emotions.
"My parents are never home," I finally say. The only people that know of that are Clarissa, Ashley, Evelyn, and now Andrew.
I explain to him how they are always working and don't have time for me.
"That's so shitty."
I nod my head and smile.
"But I have you."
Andrew comes over and kisses me softly on the cheek and I feel my face melt right off my head. The sirens in my heart go off like a blasting alarm. I am a waterfall of feelings again.
Evelyn walks down the stairs and stares at us, Andrew pulls apart from my lips.
"Uh- I, didn't mean to... interrupt anything," she smiles and winks. Without waiting for our reply, she turns around and walks upstairs without saying a word. Andrew walks over and checks on the popcorn. Just in time. I help him gather four bowls to pour the popcorn in. Helping him carry them upstairs too. When we enter the room, Jason jumps from the bed and snatches a bowl out of my hand. "Thanks," he says with a smile.
I smile back at him and look over at the television. He's changed the horror and is now playing some violent video game that involves shooting and stabbing people. Jason is too basic but funny. Evelyn walks slowly over to Andrew and he hands her a bowl of popcorn. I sit next to Jason on the bed and continue watching the gruesome slaughters he's causing on the screen.
