II: break

Today is the day we're going to California. I told my parents this and they're fine with it. It's not like they care about me being home. I get ready and put on an sleek white dress. It fits me perfectly and compliments my vibrant red hair. I have to look nice for California. Andrew picks me up after a few minutes and he looks gorgeous. His brown hair is spiked like the night of the dinner and he's wearing a sweater on. They fit him like my soft white dress.

"You look gorgeous, Jane," he says as he pulls me in and lays a soft kiss on my forehead. His breath always smells of soft mint and his teeth are brilliantly white. His brown eyes gaze into my green eyes. His cologne infiltrates my nose and I feel like I'm going to faint, like always.

"You look handsome, Andrew," I respond, getting on my tip toes to kiss him.

He guides me to his BMW, opens the door for me. The drive to the airport takes almost two hours and we listen to the music on his playlist.

I ask him if I can pick a song and he says yes. Kesha's song 'Boots' song plays and I smile. Dancing to this song lights me up all the time. Andrew pays attention to the lyrics and laughs.

"You have a beautiful voice."

That compliment hits me at full force and I'm drowned by the wave of emotions that evoke out of me. His voice is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard, why is he telling me that.

"I love you," I simply smile and continue singing.

He's a keeper.

We arrive at the airport a little after two and check in our bags and everything. Andrew pays for my Starbucks and I post it on my snapchat story. Like a basic white girl, yes. But basic white girls don't have the man I do.

Evelyn slides up and asks why I'm at the airport.

Andrew's taking me to California!

She doesn't respond but doesn't read the message either. I set my phone down and look over at Andrew who's checking out some books in the bookstore in the airport. After maybe an hour, we are finally able to board the plane. I've never been on a plane in my life but I try to hide the nervousness. Andrew holds my hand and squeezes it. He's nervous too.

"First time," he says with his eyes closed.

I smile and squeeze his hand too. The plane picks up from the ground and I feel the sensation of my body leaving my physical body. Like I'm suspended in air.

Both Andrew and I start laughing at the experience once we are easily flying through the air. Through the window, the entire city looks so small and distant. I wish it could be this easy to pack everything and leave that small town in Ohio so bad. I want to leave with Andrew. I hope that's a possibility.

We arrive in California at night and take a taxi to the hotel Andrew booked for us. Of course it's really luxurious. The walls have a marbled look to them and the bath has the feel of gold. Pure gold. The bathroom looks like one out of those romantic movies. Antique but yet so modern.

"We could get in," Andrew says behind me.

I smile and lay myself down on the bed, kicking my shoes off.

Andrew hops on the bed too and cuddles with me. He turns the tv on and the stupid news are babbling about unimportant news. That what our world has come to.

"Have you ever noticed that?" I ask.

"Noticed what?"

"The news never shows us important news anymore. It's absurd."

"It indeed is," he says, smiling at my frustration. He gets out of bed and runs to the bathroom, turning on the water of the bathtub.

"Come on!" He says, jokingly.

"Hm. I'm not sure," I say, teasing him.

"Don't make me come over there and force you to."

"Try me," I say as I walk towards him. I let my clothes drop to the floor and step into the lukewarm water filled up halfway to the top. He pours in some shampoo in the water to make it bubbly. Just like in the movies. He finally steps in and I lay on his chest.

"It's relaxing here isn't it?"

"Yeah. Away from the mess that's our home."

He nods his head and kisses the back of mine.

"I wish it was like this everyday. I hope one day it is."

After a while of us just sitting there talking, we finally decide to get into our pajamas and call it a night.

I lay awake in the darkness of our cold hotel room with only the light from the tv illuminating the room. I want this forever.

It takes me quite a while before I finally fall asleep, but when I do, it's the goddamn best sleep I've had in a long time. No stress. No worries. Nothing. I fall asleep thinking about Andrew.
