III: news

I think I am finally ready to be on TV, my presence has gotten bigger and bigger with each passing day. I'm so nervous but I'm so ready too. I posted a blog post about the true story about what happened and I included Jason and everything. It was finally time to tell the truth. My story was all over the news and people were shocked to hear about the car accident and how Evelyn is in jail right now. Her trial is in February, I think. She'll be proven guilty. There's no denying it. Her fingerprints were all over the crime scene and her car. Everything. She was drunk too. She really is psycho, insane. Several tv stations called me down and I accepted most of them and they are all spread throughout the months. The first one is today and I'm currently in my parent's car with them driving me to the station.

An hour later we arrive and the place is pretty big. I walk into the building with my parents and I am greeted by all the workers, they guide me to wherever I am supposed to be going. They walk me into this tiny place with Mr. Ryde. He's this famous tv host or something in the heart of Ohio. He was one of the first people to reach out to my parents and I about me coming onto their show. Of course, we said yes and now here I am. My parents wait for me outside and there is a camera right in front of me.

"Hello, welcome to Mornings With Ryde, today's episode, we have a very special guest and her name is Jane Cail, author of the bestselling book, Fake Friend, which has gained so much popularity in the past few weeks that it has been published. It became what we call, an overnight sensation. It was a hit. I heard that there are movie deals already in the talks? Is that true?"

I did hear about that but I don't know if it's true or not. I would have to ask my parents. I look into the camera and say,

"Maybe," and smiled.

"Where did you find your inspiration to write this book, Jane?" He asks me, and I know exactly what he wants me to say. The truth.

"I had a very traumatic experience with one my late best friends and I had so much bottled up anger that I let it all out in my book. Art is revenge, Mr. Ryde."

He chuckled.

"You're a really smart girl! How do you feel about your books success?"

"I love it, sometimes it's overwhelming but the way it makes me feel is splendid. I feel all the love from the audience reading my story."

He goes on to ask me any more questions and after a while, we wrap things up. We shake hands and tells me that he looks forward to seeing me achieve more in the future. We walk out and my parents ask him how I was.

"She's such a sweet girl. You guys are blessed! Have an amazing days and I can't wait to hear all the great things Jane will do in the future. You can call me a fan!" He patted my back, then smiled at my parents, and left. My parents and I get into the car and I pull out my phone to text Andrew on how it's been. I also have to tell him that in a couple weeks, I'm moving to New York. For a little while so that I can regain a little control over my books and, of course, the signings. I want Andrew to come with me but I would definitely understand if he couldn't.

He texts me back congratulating me about the tv thing and that he will record the show when it airs later in the morning. I contemplate on whether I should tell him just yet. I think I will hold off until I get home so I can call him.

After another long drive back to our small town, we arrive home again and I go straight to my room to start finishing some paperwork. I call Andrew first because I am so eager to tell him. The thought of keeping this from him is killing me on the inside.

"Hey! What's up?" Andrew answers into the phone.

"Andrew," I smile, "so I have some news to tell you."

He tells me to go ahead and tell me so I do. I tell him how in a couple weeks I will have to fly to New York for a while to sign books and all the events. I also told him that I really wanted him to come with me.

"Yeah, duh! I'm not leaving you alone over there," he says through the phone and my smile widens and my face becomes brighter. That just made me so happy!

"Thank you! I love you. I gotta go call Ashley," I say and then he tells me to call him right afterwards.

I hang up and dial Ashely's number. After a few rings, she answers and I tell her about me going to New York.

"I'm not sure, I'll have to think about it. I'll probably not go for the entire time you are staying in New York but I will go for a few days to be your support. You can bring me to some of you signings!"

Yes! My best friends are coming with me to New York and I feel less alone. The most important thing is that I get to experiencing this new state with my baby. I start packing even though the flight is two weeks from now.

That's how excited I am.
