"Kh...", I let out as I grasped my left arm, the pain running through my entire body.
[Due to divine intervention, an attempt to exorcise you has failed.]
The voice of the world's cold voice prompted me to let go of my arm and shakily get up, looking once again at the Hero.
"What's this?", Claiomh Solais asked, lightly surprised. "I thought I'd caught you off-guard, but to think my exorcism wouldn't work... I'm impressed, opponent."
The wound was already gone, but the blood and small traces of the pain remained.
"Heh. Similarly, I'm impressed", I said, taking on my usual haughty attitude. "This is the first time anyone's caused me pain. I suppose it's true, then, that you cut straight through godly protection."
"Ho-ho", it laughed, "Godly protection, is it? Congratulations on your high evaluation. Now then, lord of evil... with this, we shall dance!"
"It's only natural for me to accept the invitation of an opponent! Very well, dance we shall!"
The puppeteered body of Claiomh Solais's wielder raised the sword with both hands in a default posture, and I raised the claws of my right hand like a sword while placing my left hand behind me, ready to strike at any time.
With the sound of a nearby snapping branch as a signal, we both rushed towards each other simultaneously--
While the lord of evil and the holy sword were squaring off, several metres away, a shaman from Gehenna was simply raining spells upon her target without thinking of anything.
The inside of her mind was in disarray, so it might be more accurate to say she could not think of anything.
"Lilith, get ahold of yourself!", a voice spoke directly to her mind, but to make a comparison, right now, it was like trying to explain quantum physics to a particularly intelligent dog.
"Like this, it'll end up the same as last time, you know?", the Barrier Hero taunted, though he knew very well Lilith's attacks were stronger than last time.
Behind him, the human mage was looking between Lilith and the lord of evil, slight traces of panic on her face. Who do I attack, can I even hurt either of these two, what about the other monsters, various thoughts were running through her head. Mostly, however, she was worried for Reynald.
"Still, though, that guy... I didn't get the chance to appraise him last time, but what the hell is this...?!"
