Hello everyone, Astaroth here.
As expected, against an enemy, you'd want to hide your full strength, if it all possible.
The less they expect you to be able to do, the less they'll be able to prepare, after all.
Well, at the same time, if you can overwhelm them with fear of your power, there won't be a conflict at all.

I fell to one knee the moment my legs touched the ground, panting perhaps a bit more than I'd like to be.

[You have successfully removed a source of influence of a hostile 'Demiurge'-class being outside of this world. As significant mental exhaustion has been detected, your reward shall be provided another time.]

[The GAME function 'Warning' has been re-locked.]

I raised an eyebrow at the mention of a reward, but decided to pay it no mind.

Tempest and Davna, who had already used [Humanisation], both landed next to me, concern in their eyes. Navillus gathered herself in her quasi-humanoid form next to me.

"Are you alright, Master?" Davna asked, tilting her head and looking me in the eyes from below.

"Do you need a mana transfer, Master?" Tempest asked, extending her hand to me despite looking rather tired herself.

"Master, alright?" Navillus asked, pulsing and quivering.

I shook my head. "I'll be fine. Besides, it's not like any of you have the mana to spare."

Tempest averted her gaze, Davna giggled and placed her hand behind her head and Navillus tilted her head with a half-open mouth. Tempest quickly locked eyes with me again, however. "Then, at least a mana potion!"

I nodded and took one out of [Storage]. Opening the bottle, I set it to my lips and forced the bitter liquid down my throat, somehow managing not to spit it back out. "That's... as disgusting as I remember, if not worse." I shook my head and approached the place where the magic circle had been. "Still, we'll have to investigate... this...?" My sentence trailed off as my attention was grabbed by a shred of white hidden between the charred grass, leading me to pick it up.

It was a scrap of paper, burnt almost beyond recognition.

"Navillus," I said, smirking, "you've been feeling left out, haven't you? Rejoice. I have a job only you can do."

She looked half like she was going to deny my statement, but raised her hands in jubilation anyway.

"Spread yourself in the area, as thinly as you can. Bring me every bit of paper you find."

"Yes!"

The result was just about enough paper to piece together two pages. There was more paper, but it was unreadable. I turned to Tempest.

"Search the drakonid tents for any documents, or anything else, that might be related. Afterwards, meet me where we encountered the Heroes. Navillus, keep searching the area until Tempest is done and accompany her once she leaves."

I took Davna with me to the meeting spot, walking without any particular hurry.

About halfway there, I received a rather sudden telepathic message from Charlotte.

"As you commanded, the foe that presented itself to my blade has been slain, Milord."

"Excellent. Investigate the area for any clues and report back to me where we encountered the Heroes. --With Heroes, that is, don't go leaving them behind."
