I opened the doors to the rarely-used private dining room with a grand gesture, Lady Entropy walking close next to me and Evyna a couple of steps behind.

Looking around, I spotted several familiar faces--of course, my Demon Generals were there, and Rhud was standing next to Raoul, the two discussing the events of the expedition and the troubles of dealing with the... less than intelligent Goblinoids.

Of the other Demons who had come along on the expedition, the only ones present were the high-ranking ones, such as Archwitches and Vampire Dukes.

An honestly rather large amount of Ghost Maids was hard at work bringing various dishes to the large table in the middle of the room.

Because the way I opened the door was not in the least bit subtle, there was not a soul in the room who did not notice me enter. A significant percentage of them reflexively shot into a salute, and even those who didn't gave their polite greetings in their own ways--for example, the Vampire nobles bowed or curtsied, the Witches made a motion as if taking off their hats--all the Witches except Tempest had already done so, leaving them in the wardrobe as is the normal way of doing things--and the Ghost Maids who weren't holding anything curtsied as well.

As was apparently the natural course of action, the moment I entered, my Demon Generals made their way to me. Rhud and Raoul, too, walked over to me. I noticed specifically that Raoul's gaze was locked onto Lady Entropy.

"Welcome to our party in your honour, Milord", Charlotte said, narrowing her eyes pleasantly.

"Yo. We were waitin' for ya, Master", Lilith said, a merry smile on her face.

"Master! There's so much food!", Davna shouted in obvious high spirits, her burning red eyes sparkling with excitement.

"The capabilities of our castle's kitchen are excellent", Tempest remarked, nodding to herself.

"Master! Navillus can eat~?", Navillus asked, apparently waiting for my permission. Judging from the untouched food, everyone else was, too--even Lilith, who had not hesitated to shovel breakfast into her mouth before I had arrived in the morning.

"Your Demon Generals seem hungry, Milord", Raoul said, placing his hand over his still heart as he bowed.

"Suggested course of action: begin the banquet", Rhud followed up despite having no need to eat. I noticed several of the Demons in the room shoot it grateful looks.

Evyna naturally approached the Demon Generals, and wasn't met with particular disapproval from anyone. She looked slightly relieved by this. Tempest shot her grimoire a curious look.

"Then", I announced in a loud voice, "with this, the banquet may begin."

As there was a large number of people, the banquet was in a form where you could take from the large table whatever food you pleased, since there was no effective way for these Demons to have an orderly banquet otherwise.

At that moment, a Ghost Maid floated through the wall and approached me.

"Lady Alpine would like to see you now", she said to me after a respectful bow.

"Is she in a state where it would damage either of our standings?", I asked in a somewhat low voice.

At the negative answer, I had the Ghost Maid bring Alpine to me.

As Alpine approached, it made the exact same sloppy salute it had made earlier. I waved my hand in a loose gesture, and it dropped its hand down.
