I can't believe it. I'm finally living my dream. We had just arrived at our brand new beach house in California when Ali squealed jumped out of the rental car. I laughed and ran to the trunk of the car to grab our luggage. After grabbing our luggage, we headed to the front of the house.
I pulled out the house key our realtor had sent us and opened the door. As soon as we stepped foot into the huge beach house I hear Party in The USA by Miley Cyrus playing from Ali's phone. I look at her trying to keep a straight face, but she starts to sing the lyrics and dance around the house and I can't stop myself from laughing. The house is absolutely beautiful. It's three stories tall and came fully furnished. It also has an amazing view.
After choosing our rooms and settling in, we decide to shop for food and find a job. After hailing We end up eating at a place called Dan's Diner. We are seated and we look through the menu before we finally decide what we want to eat. Ali orders tacos and I order a salad. After taking one bite, Ali's eyes go wide and she practically yells "OH MY GOD THIS IS SO GOOD!"
I laugh and start eating my salad.
"Wow, the food here is amazing." I say after I finish my food.
Ali nods and swallows her last bite of food before replying. "Yeah it is. I saw a help wanted sign on the door when we walked in. You should apply." She says
"I really should. I'll grab an application before we leave" I say.
The waiter brings us our checks and my job application. Ali goes to pay but I slap her hand and pay for the food myself.
" You know how I hate it when you pay for my food" she says in a sassy tone.
"Yes I do and I already paid so deal with it. And besides you paid for my frappe earlier today." I say
"Fine, but only if I pay for the next meal." She replies
"You have yourself a deal" I laugh.
We collect our things and to the nearest Whole Foods to get some food for our house. After parking our car we head into the store. After going down a couple aisles. We already have a cart full of food. We decide that should last us awhile, and we head to the check out line. After ringing up every item in our cart, Ali one again tries to pay.
"Nope. I said meal. Not meals." I say swiping my credit card.
"Have I told you that I hate you?" Ali asks sarcastically while sticking her tongue out at me.
"Nope. You know you love me" I laugh. She just laughs and takes the bags from the conveyer belt and places them into the cart.
When we get back to our beach house, we start to put the food away. After we are finished, we sit down and watch a movie. Soon after the movie starts, Ali fell asleep. We had to leave really early in the morning, so I understand why she is tired. But it's only 5:00 pm so I'm not tired. About an hour later, I hear the doorbell ring. I groan and get up from the couch and make my way to the door. I open the door and I see a girl my age standing on our porch. OH MY GOD JENNXPENN IS AT MY DORRSTEP
"Hi! My name is Jenn and I am your next door neighbor. I saw you moving in and I brought cookies as a house warming present." She says. Wow she's nicer in person than she is on camera.
"Oh thank you. My name is Peyton, but my friends call me Pey. My housemate Ali is inside. Would you like to come in?" I ask
"Why not?" She replies.
We walk into the house and Ali is still sleeping. I give Jenn a sign to be quiet as I tip-toe to the couch. I grab a accent pillow and chuck it at Ali. Nothing. I decide to sit on her back. She doesn't move at all. I know she isn't dead because I can hear her breathing. Wow is she a heavy sleeper. I walk into the kitchen and grab a cup and fill it with ice cold water. I walk back to the couch and pour it over Ali's head.
"PEYTON LEE MYERS I AM GOING TO KILL YOU" she yells
"Sorry. I. Love. Ya." I say in between laughs.
Me and Jenn are doubled over laughing so hard we start to cry. After we stop laughing and catch our breathes, I finally speak.
"Ali this is our neighbor-"
"CHEESE AND CRUST YOURE JENNXPENN" She yells
"Yep that's me" Jenn replies laughing
"We are such big fans, but I didn't want to scare you away by fangirling" I say
"I'm trying not to fangirl myself...I'm huge fans of you guys. I was scared to come over here" She says shyly
"Oh my god...JennxPenn is a fan of us" Ali and I say in unison.
After talking for awhile, it was getting late so Jenn went home. After a while, we decided to go bed. After only a day in Cali I was sure it was going to be a great, fresh start
