Chapter Ten: Excuses

Chapter Ten: Peyton's P.o.v

I heard the door open and Connor stepped in.

"I told you not to fucking come in!" Ali screams
"Calm down!" Connor retorts
"Don't tell me to calm down!" Ali snaps walking over to him. Trevor tries to pull her away, but Ali swatted him away.
"Why don't you just fucking go Connor! You ruin everything" Ali shouts. Connor looks at me like a helpless puppy

"Look Con, I don't know what happened because I don't remember anything...I don't know what you did, but if Ali is this upset it must be pretty bad. I want you to go downstairs and eat. Then come back up and I will talk to you. Okay?" I see Ali tense up in the corner of my eye. Connor just nods and walks downstairs.

"What do you think you are doing?" Ali asks
"I'm talking to him. He's a wreck Ali. He hasn't eaten for Christs sake." I say
"Look Pey, I love you and all...but I don't even know what happened. Connor hasn't told anyone. That's the first time he has ever talked" Trevor says.
"Trev's right Pey. I'm not so sure this is a good idea. What if he does what he did last time?" Ali says
"What?" I asked confused
"What if he does the same thing he did two days ago?" She says
"I'm sure he won't, it was probably an accident." I tell her
"Fine, but I'm coming with you." Ali states. I nod in agreement and soon enough Connor is awkwardly standing in the doorway.

Ali, Connor, and I walk downstairs into the game room. We sit on the couch and it's silent until Ali speaks.

"Alright Connor spill" she says coldly
"Where do I start?" He asks helplessly
"Oh I don't know maybe the part where you stood over her motionless body looking at her like a fucking dumbass!" Ali spits
"Easy" I say trying to calm her down "Con, start from the part before I blacked out" he flinched at the words blacked out...weird.
"You really don't remember a thing do you?" He asks. I just shake my head
"Okay...well Ali, Jc, and Sam went to get the pizza and it was just you and me. We were talking for a bit and I tried to kiss you. You started to freak out and were rambling on about the past and how it wasn't going to repeat itself. Anyways, you ran into your room and I followed you up. You wouldn't let me in and then I heard you yell help so I opened the door and you were motionless on the floor. I didn't know what to do, I thought I had killed you." He says finishing his side of the story while trying to hold my hand
"Don't...you...fucking...dare!" Ali says through gritted teeth
"Wait, let me get this straight. So you thought I was dead, but you just stood there and stared at me?" I ask.
"I tried to move towards you but I couldn't move" he states
"Bullshit!" Me and Ali yell at the same time. God were so much alike.
W"What would you have done?!" He yells back
"OH I DONT KNOW MAYBE CALL AN AMBULANCE OR ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF STANDING AROUND LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT CONNOR!" I yell.
"Connor, I think it would be best if you would go upstairs and wait for her to cool down. I haven't seen her this angry since two years ago." Ali tells Connor. He just nods and heads back upstairs.

"What a dumbass" I say when he disappears upstairs
"Seriously though...you could have been dead. I thought you were dead" Ali says quietly
"How were you...you know, those two days I was practically dead?" I ask Ali
"Scared as hell...I thought I had lost my best friend. I don't know what I would have done with myself and Connor if you were dead" she says
"Well I'm here now and that's all that matters now" I say hugging her. I don't know what I would do without my best friend.

When we walked upstairs the boys were back with Starbucks. I ran towards Ricky and took my drink from his hands and gave him a hug. After Jc wakes up, we decide to watch Mean Girls on Netflix. Sam sat by Ali and I knew he had a thing for her. I could see it in his eyes. Jc sat on the couch and I sat next to him. Connor sat on the opposite side of me but Ali glared at him and he quickly moved to the recliner. I was getting tired so I nuzzled my head into Jc's shoulder. He put his arm around me and I felt protected. He was staring at Connor and they started talking about something I couldn't hear clearly because I fell asleep in a matter of minutes.
