Hard Times

Chapter 3

Clarkes POV
I woke up early the next morning to get ready, I was actually excited to go to school for once.

I got up and went to the bathroom. There I washed my face and brushed my teeth. Then I went downstairs to make my coffee. When it was ready I went back up to my room.

I grabbed the bag that was filled with the makeup I had bought the day before and poured it out on my vanity. I looked up some tutorials and then started putting it on.

After I had finished I looked back at the clock sitting on my nightstand. I only had thirty minutes left so I loosely curled my hair and put on my clothes.

Then I tiptoed down the stairs and grabbed an Apple from the counter before quietly walking out the door.

As I was walking to school, I felt like my ankles were going to break so I decided to take off my heels until I got to school.

After thirty minutes I had finally got there and as I was putting on my left shoe while walking I accidentally knocked into someone.

We both fell to the floor. My backpack was open so all of stuff fell out of it and was spread out all over the ground.

"I'm so sorry" I said knowing it was my fault for not paying attention to where I was walking.

We both didn't look up because were were focused on picking up our stuff.

The person I knocked into handed me my drawings that had been in my backpack."These are really good" that voice sounded familiar. I looked up, and to my surprise it was Bellamy.

I still hated him for what happened the last time I saw him. How could someone do that to a person. But I couldn't just blame him, it was my fault for writing in my journal in the middle of lunch.

It seemed like he didn't recognize me because he would've already said something snarky so I decided not to tell him.

"Thanks" I said using all the strength in my body not to punch him in the jaw. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Bellamy," he said grinning. I took a piece of gum out of my backpack and threw it in my mouth.

"I can't say the same, and I didn't ask you did I?" He let out a laugh. "Your a Fisty one aren't you. You must be new, wanna go out sometime?" I smiled. "Sorry I don't go out with fuckboys or dicks and your both" with that I walked off. ~~~

I walked into my first-period science class and everyone started staring. I looked around and saw a seat open next to a new girl. I sat down next to her hoping she wouldn't mind. "Hi I'm Clarke" I told her smiling. "I'm Raven," the girl said while pushing her glasses up with one finger.

"Any chance you would want to sit with me at lunch. I could show you around school if you want." She smiled and pushed her glasses up again. Maybe she should get them tightened. "Yea, that would be great. Thank you." Just as the late bell was about to ring Bellamy ran through the door out of breath.

"Nice of you to join us Mr. Blake" Mrs. Smith said sitting at her desk. Bellamy smiled at the teacher and walked passed me. The teacher put a science documentary on since it was the first day. The whole period Raven and I talked. It felt really good to have a friend.

I also had 4th period with Raven so we walked to lunch together. We got our food and began to walk to a table when someone knocked into me causing me to fall for the second time today. Damn I needed to learn some balance skills.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." A boy with long brown hair said and helped me up. It was Finn, he looked even better then the last time I saw him. "O Its fine" I said while fixing my skirt.

"Clarke are you ok?" Raven asked and I nodded. "Wait your Clarke Griffin!?" Finn asked loudly causing everyone to stare, especially Octavia. I didn't expect Bellamy to know who I was with this new look because he was stupid but I thought Finn would recognize me. All I did was change my hair and get contacts it wasn't like I looked like a new person.

"You look very uh different..." Finn said looking at his feet. "Yea I guess so" this conversation was getting awkward and I didn't feel like continuing it. "I'll be right back Raven, I'm going to the bathroom."

She nodded and sat at the table we were walking before, Finn followed behind her. I hope he would t cause her any trouble.

When I got out of the bathroom I saw at least twenty people surrounding our lunch table including Octavia and Bellamy. I ran towards the crowd of people and pushed through them to find Octavia yelling at Raven for talking to Finn, damn that girl had issues.

"Don't you dare even think about touching her Octavia" I said as I stood in front of Raven to block her from Octavia.

Bellamy stood there silently which was unusual for him and Raven pushed her glasses up once more. "Shut up, i can do whatever I want Clarke just because you got hot doesn't mean shit, your still a pathetic little loser." She clenched her fists and swung her arm at my face but I grabbed her fist and stopped her.

"Don't you ever try to hurt Raven again or there will be hell to pay, got it?" She laughed so I twisted her arm backwards. "Ow fine, I'm sorry. I won't just stop please" Octavia pleaded and ran away when I let go.

I glanced at Bellamy who looked impressed. I thought everything was fine but Octavia ended up telling the principal what I did so I ended up getting detention for two days, I was actually kind of happy because it meant I got to spend less time at home.

So after school Raven walked me to detention and kept thanking me for saving her. I was never going to let Raven feel how I felt and I didn't care how much trouble I would get in to make sure she stayed happy. I knew the rest of the day was going to be bad when I walked into detection and saw Bellamy.
