Hard Times

Chapter 20

Clarkes POV
Spring break began the next week and it was going by painfully slow. I know your probably thinking, isn't that a good thing but it wasn't for me.

Bellamy and Octavia had gone to there grandparents house in Texas, and Raven went to her dads house in Colorado with Murphy.

It had only been two days since break started and i was already bored out of my mind, i had nothing to do. To make things worse my birthday was on Tuesday and i was going to have no one to share it with.

but i couldn't blame my friends for that, after all i never told them in the first place because i knew they'd ditch there family to be with me,  and i didn't want that.

So when Tuesday rolled around i bought myself a box of chocolate cupcakes and a candle at the grocery store then drove home. I unlocked my door and sat at my kitchen table in the dark. I lit the candle and sang happy birthday to myself realizing how depressing this was.

I wished that i could have a drama free happy life which i knew probably wouldn't happen and blew out the single blue candle on top of my cupcake. "Happy 18th birthday Clarke" i said to myself as i walked to my room with the box of cupcakes in my hand.

The rest of the week i stayed in my bedroom, binged watched stanger things even though id seen it at least fifteen times, and ate my chocolate cupcakes.

As the week went by i casually texted everyone, they were all having a great time. Raven and Murphy were going camping with her dad. Octavia was learning how to knit with her grandma and Bellamy was getting taught by his grandpa how to shoot a gun.

When they all asked me what i was doing i said i was at my aunts house in her art studio. I know its not a good thing to lie to your best friends but they were all with there family having fun while i sat on my laptop watching TV all day alone.

Finally it was Monday morning and spring break was finally over. I couldn't wait to see everyone especially Bellamy. I know it had only been nine days but i missed them so much. So like usual i got ready in the bathroom, came out made my much needed coffee, put on my outfit and did my hair.

I drove to school alone since Bellamy and Octavias grandparents were dropping them off at school today. At least i could sing as loud as i wanted to the music in the car without damaging peoples ears because of my terrible singing voice.

I got to school and walked over to a nearby tree we said we would all meet up at. No one was there yet so i leaned against the tree and looked at my phone. Raven and Murphy were the first to show up.

They ran up to me. "C i missed you so much" Raven said as Murphy nodded in agreement. "You to" i said. Just then Octavia walked up to Raven and both kissed us on the cheek. "Hey girlies spring break was so great wasn't it" she said as i looked around for Bellamy.

"He asked grandpa if he could quickly go get you choclates. He will be here in a minute. You guys are like so cute together it makes me want to throw up" Octavia said. 

"Thanks?" I said not knowing if it was supossed to be a good thing or bad. We all huddled next to the tree and talked about everything, and i mean every detail about our break. I bit my nails. I don't think i could make up a whole detailed story in a couple of minutes.

Right as i was supposed to tell everyone what i did for spring break i saw Bellamy appear with a small box of chocolates in his hand. I ran to him and pressed my lips against his. He dropped the choclates on the ground and held my waist. I put my hands in his hair. Then the bell sadly rang for first period.

I put the chocolates in my backpack and Bellamy and i headed to first period together holding hands. Raven and Murphy followed behide us. I looked up at Bellamy and stared into his beautiful big brown eyes. "I really missed you Bellamy" i told him. "I did to princess. I told my grandpa all about you. He can't wait to meet you" he told me.

I smiled as we reached the door to first period and sat in our assigned seats. The day went by quickly for once. Everyone squeezed into my car and headed to my place to study for the S.A.T.S which was coming soon. We all sat on the floor of living room and quized eachother.

Eventually we got tired of studying and through our books across the floor. "Can all of you guys please skip school tomorrow for my birthday? I wanna go to Disneyland but for all of us to go it would be alot of money, so maybe we can go somewhere else" Octavia asked.

"Of course we will, and don't worry ill pay for the tickets" i told her. "Clarke thats at least 700 dollars" she said as we still sat in a circle on the floor with are books thrown across the room. "Consider it my present to you and its your 18th birthday, the most important one of your life. You deserve to something great."

"Your the best friend ever i love you so much and i promise ill pay you back when i get a job, if i ever do" Octavia said hugging me. "You guys don't love me?" Raven asked half joking half serious. "Of course we love you" we both said and brought her into the hug.

"What about us?" Murphy asked looking at Bellamy. "We love you guys to now get in here" Octavia said and they joined the hug. I love my friends so much, i think id die without them.

I bought our tickets for Disneyland  on my computer while we all watched a movie. Then it got late and everyone left besides Bellamy. He helped me clean up the living room and then we went to my bedroom. He took of his shirt and i admired his abs.

"Bellamy don't get me wrong id love for you to stay here but won't your mom worry about where you are?" I asked him sliding my hands down his chest. "Princess thanks for worrying about me but its fine, she knows im here."

"Really?" I asked. "Yea she loves you and she knows you are one of the only things that make me happy" he told me. I kissed him and put on my pajamas. We lied in bed. Bellamy put his arms around my waist and pulled me to him. I could feel his warm body against mine, i loved it.
