Me and Mr. Everhart
My phone alarm went off. '6 o'clock, already? Ugh' I yawned and then slowly opened my eyes. 'Where am I?' I looked around. This was not my hotel room. Of course it had a similar set up, but the painting on the wall was different and none of my clothes were on the floor. I didn't even have my Boots to Asses stuff bear (hey, I was a fan before I knew he was my dad) Then I realized, "The movie date. No, not a date." I was in Jason's hotel room, in his bed. I tried to remember the events from last night, but nothing came up. "Oh God, I hope this didn't turn into a one night stand?" I got up from the bed and searched all around for signs of intercourse, you know, condom wrapper, anything. But nothing was found. 'Why was I even worried. I wouldn't have sex on the first date, or whatever it was. Unless I got drunk! Oh no! Wait, I don't even have the slightest headache.' Just then the door to the bathroom opened, I quickly ducked behind the bed.
"Did she leave?" Jason said quietly.
I then heard his footsteps coming closer to the bed, he was only a couple of inches away now. I touched his leg, and he jumped back.
I bursted out laughing. "Mr. Everhart is a scaredy cat I see."
"Its just you."
"Awwh, you were afraid there was a big bad ghost?" I said in a baby voice, still laughing.
"No, I was afraid that it was a spider." He rebutted. This caused me to laugh even harder."I'll admit I have arachnophobia."
My laughing calmed down, "I would've never expect that from you."
"And I wouldn't expect you to snore."
I blushed. "No!"
"Yes! I shoulda recorded it, priceless."
"Whatever." I said playfully pushing him.
He clenched his chest and pretended to be hurt. "That really hurt Bianca."
"I'm sure it did." I said while rolling my eyes.
"No really, now you have to make it up to me."
"Yeah, like how?" I said folding my arms across my chest.
"Breakfast."
"You paying?"
"Haha, sure. Even though you supposed to be making it up to me."
"I am gracing you with my company, Mr. Everhart."
"And that is all I need." Jason said, wrapping his arms around my waist.
I loved this moment, but I didn't want to move too fast. Jason was a great guy, and I didn't want to scare him off or anything, so I had to let the embrace go. "Sorry to make this awkward, but I really have to go to the bathroom."
Jason laughed. "All right, Bianca, but then its breakfast time-- After a morning jog of course."
"Its a done deal." I said shaking Jason's hand.

When we got done with our jog, we walked our way to a Waffle House. "Waffle House, out of all places."
"Whaddya mean! They have the tastiest waffles!" I exclaimed.
"I'm not arguing about that, but do we really need our stomachs filled with sugar and trans fat?"
"What I'm going to eat, won't affect you in the slightest I promise." I winked.
"It might make me give into temptation."
I stopped in my tracks. "Excuse me, Mr. Everhart, but are you implying I give into temptation easily."
Jason turned around, he had an embarrassed look on his face. "No, of course not-- well, um maybe just a little. But it wasn't meant to be offensive, I was just saying--"
I slowly stepped closer to him, his cologne getting stronger with every step closer, and poked him in the chest. "I liked you better as a bag thief."
I tried to walk past him, but I felt his tender grip on my arm and he turned towards him. "Bianca, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you."
"I was only joking!" I said with a slight smile.
"You know I wouldn't do anything to purposefully hurt you." He said with a sympathetic look on his face.
"Jason, you didn't." I reassured.
"Are you sure."
"Positive. Now can we go eat some waffles?" I laughed.
He caressed my face with the back of his hand. "Of course we can."
I started to blush. It was nice to see that he cared so much, but honestly he needs to realize when I joke. He cares too much about other people's impression of him, especially mine. Even with what happened last week, I am better now. And besides, it takes more than a harmless joke to get me worked up. Yeah my two previous love interest cared about me, in their own slightly disturbed way, but they never took things personally. I sighed, because they may have cared but they obviously didn't care enough.
"Bianca, whats wrong?" Jason said staring into my eyes.
"You're different is all." I responded, telling him the half-truth.
He cocked an eyebrow. "So you sighed?"
I took his hand off my face. "Yeah, Jason so I sighed."
He looked at me, with a hurt expression on his face. "I'm so sorry Bianca, I- I didn't mean to try and get in your business. I-I" he sighed, "I don't like seeing you hurt."
I sighed again. "Jason, you have never hurt me. I am hurting myself, and dragging you in it."
"You said it like its a bad thing."
"It is, I jumped in a relationship too soon, again."
"Well thats partially my fault for making advances. How could I expect you to reject me, I am very charming after all." he said with a smile.
His comment caused me to giggle, "What makes you think you're so charming?" I asked playfully.
"Well, you agreed to be my workout partner for a day, we've hung out earlier this week, you agreed for me to take you out to dinner, and you slept at my house and now we are getting waffles, all within a short week."
"Sometimes a girl needs a friend, Mr. Everhart."
"But you know you think of me more than that." Jason said lacing his fingers into mind.
"What makes you so sure?"
"Cause you're going to let me do this."
Jason leaned down and kissed me, I didn't even have time to respond. I stood there stunned for a second, but then kissed back. His lips were so soft, and his body was so warm. This is the safest I felt since being with Corey after CJ and I's breakup.
After 20 seconds, our brief kiss ended. It was just a simple kiss, but it housed a thousand emotions, all of them good. "These moments we've had together, have been the best moments I've experienced in a while." Jason said.
"I know the feeling." I said with a slight smile.
Jason then stepped back, and turned around. "Waffle House is mighty close, I have an idea of how we could get there faster."
"And what is that?" I asked, talking to his back.
"Hop on." He said motioning to his back.
"Seriously?" I said laughing.
"I am very serious Ms. Johnson. A girl like you deserves to be physically transported everywhere."
"Well Mr. Everhart, if that was the case we could've gone back to the hotel after the jog."
"Nonsense, you need to be taken there by horseback."
"Are you calling yourself a horse?"
"Perhaps I am. Now, get on."
I shrugged my shoulders and jumped on to his back, he grabbed my legs and then sped off. I could barely contain my laughter. This is the happiest I have felt in a while, Jason was a genuine guy. No mystery, no wild fantasies about how the world should function, he was just a guy with a great personality and a great physique. He was nothing like Corey and CJ, and I'm glad he wasn't.
