Climate Change

"Mother..." I hesitantly asked, "Whose car is in the driveway?"

"Goodness, I should've told him to move his car now the surprise is ruined!"

"Mother who is the owner of that car!" I demanded to know who it was. I hoped it wasn't who I thought, because this whole vacation would be for nothing if it was.

"Well, if you have to be so bossy I'll tell you; it is your boyfriend CJ!" My face just about drained in color. "You looked like you saw a ghost hija!" my mother said.

"If only he was a ghost! That would mean he'd be dead!" I yelled.

My mom gave me the death stare, my dad looked awkwardly out the window. "Bianca that is no way to speak about anybody, and you know it. Now do you want to discuss your problem like an adult?" she sternly said.

"He cheated on me Mom! We aren't together anymore!" I yelled angrily, "Why would you even bring him? Its just a waste of time for you!"

"Watch your tone young lady!" my mother yelled. I just scoffed and rolled my eyes, I didn't like being disrespectful to my parents but this was crossing the line. My mother stuck her head into someplace she didn't belong, and I had to suffer because of it!

"Patricia, Bianca has a right to be upset." my dad, butted in.

"What makes you say that Tony?" she retorted, folding her arms across her chest.

"She got cheated on, you took one of the skeletons out of her closet." My dad said with his hands in surrender.

"You know I didn't mean to." she said softly.

"I know you didn't mean for this to happen but it did because you were being nosey." My dad said defensively.

"At least I wasn't gossiping like you! You told me about the guy you met backstage when you went to visit Bianca. Later on in the day I got a phone call from a very nice boy so I immediately thought it was who you told me about Tony. Over the phone he seemed like the perfect gentleman, the type of guy my girl would like. And then I met him in person and knew he was the one for you Bianca!"

"Mother, he cheated on me! Why isn't that processing in your mind?" I shrieked. I felt like pulling out my hair, why is she being so difficult?

"Well it isn't my fault my daughter didn't tell me what was going on in her love life" My mom snapped.

"Mom, I call you almost everyday and you know it."

"A phone call wouldn't have hurt!"

"I do call you! But in a circumstance like this, a phone call isn't genuine!"

There was dead silence, we pulled into the driveway and the eco-friendly devil himself stepped out of the doorway. CJ attempted to shake my father's hand, but got rejected. He then proceeded on to hug my mother, and of course she returned the hug. Then he made his way to the back seat, to open the door for me. My dog Daisy, jumped out first, tackling CJ to the ground.

"Good job, girl." I said under my breath.

CJ got up and dusted himself off. "Hello, Bianca." he smiled.

"CJ, why the hell are you here?" I coldly whispered.

"I wanted to work things out."

I rolled my eyes, "There is absolutely nothing to work out between us."

"I miss you Bianca!"

I scoffed "So you missed me soooooo damn much that you slept with another woman?!"
