Chapter 8: Yugi's confession

Yugi POV
"I'm home." I yell nobody responds. I go to the kitchen to get some food instead I find a note on the counter
Yugi by the time you read this I'm already gone I'm going to pick up your sister from the airport. I'll be bringing some dinner for all of us to eat. I'll be back soon

Luna is here, I didn't get a call from her must've been a surprise. I go upstairs to do my homework I receive a text from him
Yami: Hey
I don't know how to respond to this I don't want him to think I'm desperate so I will wait for 5 more seconds.....
Yugi:Hey
Yami:Wyd
I no I didn't think this through. I have to think of something should I go ahead and say I'm doing homework or should I say I'm doing nothing
Yugi:Nothing
Yami:Yeah right
Yugi: Okay you got me
Yami: You give up to easily
Yugi: I'm doing homework
I then that's the last he texts me for tonight. I have had a crush on him ever since we started high school. I haven't told anybody about it not even grandpa or even Luna. I haven't come out the closet I'm too scared of what everyone is going to think of me if they knew plus I can't handle if I get picked on at school. I hear the door bell from downstairs. I go downstairs to see luggages and bags full of goodies "I'm so glad you made it safely Luna it's great to see you have been doing better ever since the incident." Grandpa said. What incident is he talking about "Thanks Grandpa I'm suppose to go into the clinic to check up on my stiches." Luna said as she placed her bag. I walk in on their conversation "Hey Luna." I said shyly "Yugi!" She squealed as she came and gave me a hug. I haven't seen her ever since school started "Look at you you've grown since the last I saw you. Oh Yugi look at what I brought you I know you have been dueling for quite sometime so." She went to her bag and pulled out a wrapped box. I lifted the lid off to find "NO WAY YOU GOT ME THE LIMITED GOLDEN MAGICIAN." I yelled "Yep consider this as a late Christmas gift." She said "No, I can't accept this. It's too expensive." I said as I returned the gift "What are you talking about it's yours I got it for you." Luna said as she pushed the gift back "But Luna-" "No buts it's yours quit being so modest can't you for once be selfish and take the gift." She interrupted. My sister is sure is something every time she leaves for her photography trips she always brings me something whether it's expensive or something really rare which don't get me wrong it's all cool and all its just I feel bad I can never surprise her with something spectacular, which also reminds me "What's this incident you and grandpa are talking about, and what stitches." I asked "You heard that part." Luna said in a surprise tone "Luna was caught in a middle of a rampage." Grandpa said "What kind of rampage." I questioned "Look Yugi let's just say I got into a pickle and I got hurt in the end pretty bad to be honest." She said as her eyes got glossy. She went silent for a moment she then looked back at me "Its not something to worry about okay." She said as she grabbed my shoulders firmly. I trust her if she says it's nothing to worry about then there is nothing to worry about. Grandpa went out to get pizza a few minutes ago Luna went to her room to unpack and get settled in while on the other hand I finished up my homework and was texting Yami
Yami: That's great that your sister is back
Yugi: Yeah guess what she got me this time
Yami: I bet something cool
Yugi: She got me a Golden Magician card
Yami: THE LIMITED EDITION GOLDEN MAGICIAN
Yugi: Yeah
Yami: Lucky... Gtg night
Yugi: See you tomorrow
I checked the time to see it's only 10:30 who sleeps that early on a Saturday. I have been thinking alot if I should tell someone about my secret I don't know how much longer I can hold this in. I hear a knock on the door "Come in." I yell Luna walks in "Hey buddy." She said as she sat on the end of my bed "Hey." I responded to be honest I'm still curious why Luna has to see the doctor "I just got off the phone with my boss saying I'm leaving next week." She said. She just got here can't they send someone else instead why does it always have to be my sister I just growl "Did you just growl." Luna pointed out "So what." I responded in annoyance "Hey is everything all right with you." Luna asked with concerned eyes " No, I don't know." I said not even looking at her "*sigh* you know you can talk to me." Luna said I looked at her "How long are you going to be gone." I asked "Hmm, I don't know proabably for few weeks this time." She said "That's what you said last time." I said "Is that what's been bugging you." She said "what." I asked even though I didn't want to admit it "You don't like it when I'm gone for a long time." She said "Maybe, but it doesn't matter I don't care if your gone or not. Your not here when I need someone to talk to your always gone." I said in a frustrated tone. Luna is quiet she then takes a deep breath "Yugi this isn't just me being gone there is something else on your mind like you've been holding your breath." She said I'm quiet I don't even want to say anything to make her hate me "Yugi what's wrong." She asks one more time I take a moment to think on how I'm going to tell her I'm gay how would she look at me proabably disgusted "Your right there has been something I've been hiding from everyone." I said "Well I'm listening." Luna said "Promise you won't hate me." I said as my throat began to close "Yugi anything you say is not going to make me hate you, you are my brother nothing is going to change that." She says as she puts her hand on top of mine "Luna I-I'm...." I stop for a moment to collect myself I'm too scared I feel like I'm going to break down any moment if I continue with this. All of a sudden I'm pulled in for a hug "Yugi if you aren't ready to tell me it's fine I'll be waiting for you okay." Luna said as she rubbed my back to get me to calm down. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes it was comforting "Will it make you feel better if I tell you something that grandpa doesn't know." She asked I pulled away from the hug and looked at her "What?" I asked her
"Okay so you know how me and grandpa were talking about an incident." Luna asked I nodded in response "I wasn't in a riot, I was on a date that didn't end well anyways long story short after I politely decline him he..... got out a knife and stabbed me multiple times here." Luna said as she lifted her shirt to show me the stabs I saw the stitches. I don't know why but I believe her I know when my sister is lying or being over dramatic and she is telling the truth "Someone heard my screams and called the police and the ambulance. He is now in jail and I'm suppose to check how my stitches are doing." Luna said she didn't look at me at all, I didn't need her to see me to know what she is feeling. I feel little bit better and more comfortable now "Luna I'm sorry I didn't know." I started out I took a deep breath "Luna I'm gay." I said. This sudden weight on my shoulders have been lifted off Luna stays in her position for a while she then looks at me. Is she hating me now, I really regret doing this I knew I've should've never told anyone about this. Luna then jumps on me and gives me the biggest hug "You don't hate me?" I asked "Why would I hate you, just because your gay doesn't mean I love you less what kind of sibling I would be I didn't accept you for you." She looking at me like I was crazy. "Kids Pizza." Grandpa yells "Don't tell Grandpa yet." I asked "I won't I promise." She zips her lips.
