At lunch, I tell Emily all of the events from last night, and she thinks they're adorable.
""I'm not supposed to say but..." Emily says. "I know where you guys are going."
"Tell!" I beg.
"Well, me and James are going to a rollerskating place tonight, and James let Grayson bring you along."
"Wait wait wait... you and James are going on a date?!"
Emily nods with a huge smile on her face.
"Aww! I'm so glad. It took you crushing on him since 9th grade for him to ask you out."
"Oh, I know! Took him forever!" Emily says, cohmping on her carrot. A smile lights her face and I glance behind me to see Grayson walking towards us.
"Shoot, why is he coming?! I'm gonna embarrass myself!"
"You two are friends, you'll be fine. You know, I need to go to the bathroom. Be right back!" Emily gets up from the table.
"You just went!" I yell, then turn my head and smile at Grayson who now sits next to me. "Oh heyyyy. What's up?"
He gives his dorky laugh. "Not much. You?"
"Just chillin', you know?"
"Yeah, definitely, I know. Now, about our, uh, date tonight."
"Yes?" I ask.
"Well, my friend James asked your friend Emily out to this rollerskating rink, and he said I could bring you along too. Would you be fine with that?"
"Sounds perfect." I rest my elbow on the table and my chin on my hand. We stare at each other with huge smiles on our faces.
The ringing of the stupid bell interrupts our moment, and Grayson kisses my cheek. "I'll pick you up at 4:30."
"Alright." The feelings of his lips on my cheek makes my smile grow, and Emily is now back, and I tell her what happened while we throw away our lunch.

"Mom!" I yell as I walk in the house. "I'm home!"
My mother walks out of the kitchen and smiles at me. "How was school?"
"Same old, same old. I'm going out with Emily and a few other friends tonight."
"Alright. I'll be at work all day tomorrow, so you'll be on your own for dinner."
"Okay. I'll be getting dressed." I run upstairs to my room and search through my closet. I call Emily to help me.
"Try a white sweater, jeans, and shoes don't matter. Put your hair in a high ponytail."
I pull those two items out of my closet, but my sweater has a black silhouette of Mickey Mouse on the front. "Okie dokie. I'll see you there."
"I'm about to puke of nerves."
"Just don't puke on him, okay?"
"I'll try." She hangs up and I change into the clothes. I pull my hair up into a ponytail and put on grey vans with little cats on them, then walk downstairs.
"Bye mom!"
"Wait wait wait, why are you dressed up?" She asks.
"I'm not dressed up."
"Who are the other friends going with you?"
"Emily's crush."
"And?"
