In the middle of the summer, the day after new kids have come, during our free period as me and Emily chat, I gasp.
"I'll be right back!!" I yell, then run over to the basketball court.
"Faith, I'm in the middle of a lesson." He smiles at me.
"I know how we can stay close during college!"
Grayson raises an eyebrow and hands the basketball to a kid next to him, stepping towards me. "How?" He asks.
"I could be the physical therapist for the team! I'll be at every practice in case you get hurt, every game in case you get hurt, and you can fake injure yourself a lot so we can make out in the back room!"
"Ew..." Some of his campers say.
Grayson smiles. "You're a genius!! I'll contact coach, and say it'll be a great learning experience for you, and that you're amazing, and professional, and know exactly what to do!"
"Yeah!" I yell, and we hug.
"Call coach tonight, okay?"
"Got it." Grayson leans down and kisses my forehead. "I love you."
"I knowww." I skip back over to the arts and crafts center and continue with Emily as we talk and clean the brushes.
That night, as Matt is preaching, Grayson secretly sits over into my bench.
I smirk at him and rest my head on his shoulder.
"Coach said it's fine... he said you sound like a very nice, young lady. Any friend of mine is a friend of his." Gray whispers.
I smile. "You're already his favorite, huh?" I whisper back.
"Yep."
I wince as Grayson starts singing with the rest of the campers, and I put my hand in front of his mouth.
"Stick to sports, baby." I whisper.

As Emily hugs James one final goodbye, Grayson and I head to our three room apartment.
Grayson and I got separate rooms, but we know we will cuddle up and fall asleep a lot.
I put my white bedspread on the small bed by the wall, then set up my posters over the walls. High school Musical, The Hunger Games, Shawn even made me put some up of him.
I set up my black desk with framed pictures of me and Grayson, a mug with pencils and pens, and place my lap top on the desk with my mouse.
I feel arms wrapped around my waist and smile. "Hey Gray." I turn around and kiss his jaw.
"It's like our own house."
"Kind of." I wiggle out of his grasp and walk outside, where Emily is still hugging James, who's crying more then she is.
"Okay kids, break it up." I pull Emily away from James. "Both of you will see each other plenty."
"Okay, okay..." Emily kisses James. "Call me when you get there."
"I will. Have fun. Don't drink. Be safe. Get good grades. Don't let Grayson get Faith pregnant yet."
"James!" I laugh.
"I'm going!" He blows Emily a kiss then walks away.
Emily hugs me and sighs. "I miss him already."
"I know, sweetie. Want a cupcake?"
She nods and still clings onto me as I walk back inside to the kitchen. I hand her a cupcake from the box we bought earlier, knowing she would need it later.
"Need help setting up your room?" I ask.
"Nah, it's okay. Thanks though." She smiles, then hauls her boxes into her room.
"Time for the basketball meeting. I'll see you later." Grayson kisses my forehead.
"You're going like that? Change to a better shirt, jeans, and some decent shoes. And comb your hair."
Gray smiles. "I'll be fine. I'll be back in about an hour." He kisses my forehead again then walks out.
I decide to start making dinner, our first dinner as broke college students.
I single out pizza and order a large cheese, which is fifteen freaking dollars. Geez.
After about thirty minutes, I pay the guy, then set the box on the coffee table. Emily and I both eat two slices, leaving four for Grayson, as we watch Wizards of a Waverley Place. Yes, I'm a sucker for classic Disney movies and shows.
Grayson plops down next to me and grabs a slice, quickly eating it, then another.
"Okay, slow down there, Mr.Hungry." I say.
"Sorry." Grayson puts his crust down. "I'm just starving."
"Did the meeting go well?"
"Yeah, everyone is cool. Coach said you can come in for the first practice tomorrow night."
"Alright." My heart runs a marathon inside of me. I never imagined being the physical therapist for the Duke basketball team, let alone date one of the players.
I fall asleep with my head on Grayson's chest, his arm around me.
"Could you put on a longer skirt, Faith?" Grayson asks.
I look down at my outfit. White converse, black skirt, and a Pet Sematary by Stephen King shirt.
"I think I'm good, Gray."
"I don't want guys staring at you..."
I smile. "Guys won't stare at me. Plus, girls will definitely be staring at you. You're a freshman for the basketball team, and you're super good looking." I adjust his Duke Basketball shirt and peck his lips.
"But Faith, boys are boys. They're gonna touch you!"
"Grayson. I'll be okay. Okay?"
"Okay, okay, okay, okay... see you later."
And I head off to my first college class, having cold feet.
