I smile at Jackie as she gives Scarlett her birthday cake.

"Happy sixth birthday, sweetheart." She kisses her head, and Scarlett smiles.

"Thank you mommy!" Scarlett picks up her fork and digs into her slice.

I kiss Jackie's cheek and she smiles.

"I love you." She says.

"I love you, too."

I wonder if David is having a good birthday.

Faiths POV

David smiles as Owen helps him onto the bike.

"I'm so tall now!" David says.

I laugh and Owen nods. "Yeah you are, little dude. Now put your feet on the pedals."

David follows his instructions. "Don't let go, okay daddy?"

"I won't."

I smile at Owen as he holds onto the bike while David pedals.

"May I let go now, David?" Owen asks.

"No! Don't you dare!"

Owen chuckles. "Okay, okay. You're doing great."

"May I get off now?" David asks after a few more minutes.

"Yep!" Owen brings the bike back to the garage and helps David off, taking off his helmet.

"Was that fun?" I ask as we head inside.

"Yep! Best birthday present ever!"

Owen kisses his cheek. "Good."

I sit on the couch and wrap my arms around my two favorite boys.

I wonder if Scarlett is having a good birthday.

Six Years Later

"I can't believe we are 33, Owen. Were so old."

He chuckles. "You're already getting grey hairs."

My eyes widen. "Wait, really?"

"No, silly." Owen chuckles again, and I smile of relief.

David cheers as Grayson makes a basket. How ironic. His favorite player is his dad, yet he has no idea.

"When will we tell him?" Owen whispers in my ear.

"I don't know." I whisper back.

"Ugh, half time." David slumps on the couch and pouts.

"During half time, wanna get something to eat?" I ask. "You get to choose, my twelve year old guy."

"Taco Bell."

I laugh. "You sure?"

"Yes."

Suddenly, Owen's phone rings. He picks up, speaks some weird medical words, then hangs up.

"I gotta go." He says. "Emergency surgery."

Owen and I frown, and Owen sighs. "I'm sorry." He kisses both of our foreheads then rushes out.

"Well, we don't need him to have a good time at Taco Bell." I say.

"Very true." David turns off the television then we head out to the car.

"When do you have another Recital?" David asks.

"Next week."

"Who are you again?"
