Grayson hugs me before I walk into my dressing room on Christmas Eve night.

"You're going to be amazing. You'll be the best sugar plum fairy anyone has ever seen." He says.

I laugh a little. "Thanks, Gray. Don't embarrass me by yelling out 'Yeah Faith!', okay? And don't fall asleep."

"I won't do the first one, but I'll probably do the second."

"Grayson. Ballet is the most beautiful form of art. You can't fall asleep."

"Fine, I'll have Emily yell in my ear if I close my eyes." He says with a smile.

"Good. Bye bye."

"Don't trip."

"I'll try." I kiss his lips quickly then walk into my dressing room.

I carefully step into one of the three boxes that is decorated like a present. After the music for the children and adults dancing stop, I hear the music for Uncle Drossolmeyer (who's actually a 15 year old boy with baby powder in his black hair).

"Holy crap." I mutter to myself as I feel my box moved onto the stage.

I take a deep breath as I see my 'present' door open. Uncle Drossy (our nickname for him) picks me up and places me in the middle of the stage.

I fight back a smile as I see Grayson, front row, not asleep, watching intently. I keep a straight face as I dance with doll-like movements.

When I finish with my head down, my feet in fourth position, and my arms square by my side, Uncle Drossy picks me up and places me back in my box. I let out a huge breath as I'm enclosed from the audience.

What seems like seconds later but is actually about an hour, I go onto the stage for my solo. It goes by so quickly, and it was awesome. I've danced since I could walk, and I've always dreamed of having this part. Being the oldest in the studio, even though I was the newest, it helped me land this part.

A/N: This is how I imagined the solo and costume... it's just so freaking amazing to me

Even though he said he wouldn't, when I'm done, Grayson yells my name.

At the end, they have to announce our names and our parts. I link arms with the Nutcracker (Marcus, a boy two months younger than me) and we bow. I let out a small laugh as I see Grayson glaring at Marcus.

Before being able to get changed and go home, we have to go outside in a line for the crowd, ugh. I hate these requirements.

I switch my precious (and expensive as hell) ballet shoes for sneakers and walk out in the back of the line, talking with Marcus until we have to walk through the crowd.

People say we all did amazing, shake my hand, compliment my costume, etc. Since I'm the last person, I'm allowed to make stops, so I hug my mom, who's crying.

"You were just so beautiful!" She exclaims.

"Mom, you cry every recital. You gotta get over it." I say, laughing.

"I'll try. Grayson and Emily and James are at the end."

"Thanks Mama. Love ya."

"I love you, too."

I kiss her cheek then walk down the line. I run up to Grayson and hug my handsome boy, and he tightly hugs back.

"I didn't know you were that good." He says.
