We are laying in the bed panting. Now we're fully mated, never to be separated. We lay there for a few minutes before Jared finally decides to speak.
"That was-"
"Yeah." I lean my head in and we kiss again for a few seconds before there is a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Jared calls.
"Cherry." Comes the small reply. My head snaps toward Jared. Shit! She's only 12, she can't see this.
"One minute!" Jared calls as he jumps out of bed. I pull him back for one last kiss before we both depart. I get dressed and head into the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. "Come in!" Jared yelled when he was ready.
"Sorry to interrupt". She starts to fig-it with her hands. I come out and lean in the doorway.
"It's okay. What would you like?" I ask.
"It's time for dinner." She nods her head then leaves after bringing the message. We head down to eat a great dinner consisting of chicken, potatoes, and gravy. YUM! The pack welcomed Kerren very well. I think they're always willing to accept a new member.
As I fall asleep that night, I think of my parents. I'm surprisingly not as sad as I thought I would be. I think it's because of Jared, also the thought that they're happier now. I dream of many things. Me and Jared, running in wolf form, my parents, and then Cherry, who is eating grass and flowers. Congratulations, mind. You have officially won the 'most weird' dream award. (Authors Note: Comment the weirdest dream you've had! The one I think is the weirdest I'll add as a character of their choice in one of the chapters!)
The next morning, I went into the kitchen only to be greeted by the putrid smell of bacon. Normally, I would love the smell, but this morning, it makes me sick. I ran into the bathroom and threw up everything I've eaten in the past twelve hours. Jared comes in and holds up my hair.
"Are you okay?" He sounds worried.
"Yeah I'm fine. It's weird, I don't feel sick or anything." I freeze as a horrible thought comes to mind.
"What is it?" He asks.
"Nothing. I'll tell you later."
After breakfast, I gathered Kelsey and Fionna into the living room with me.
"Will you guys do me a huge favor? Not as a Luna, but as a friend?" I ask. That last part takes them by surprise, but they all nod. "You can't tell anyone. Don't even think about it because I don't want anyone to read your thoughts. And whatever you do, don't tell Jared, okay?"
"Okay" Fionna says. She looks happy that I chose her to help me.
"Promise?"
She nods.
"Kelsey?"
"Promise."
I tell them what I want them to do and hand them the keys to one of Jared's three cars. Kelsey looks surprised at my request, but Fionna seems to be even more joyful.
"We'll be back in an hour or so, okay? Try not to die on me." Fionna jokes. When they leave, I head out to the garden and sit on the bench. Oh mom, dad, if only you guys were still here. I'm not sure how Jared will react if the outcome of this is what I think it will be. How will the pack react? It's going to be such a surprise. Kerren comes out and sits with me.
"Hey," I say.
"Whats up?" He tilts his head up slightly just like the boy he is.
"Thinking. What about you?"
"Same."
"Hey, Kerren?" I can't help but ask the only question that's been on my mind since I found him.
"Hmm?"
"Do you have a mate?" His eyes widen.
"You don't know?" I shrug. Well, Obviously I don't know. "Emilie is my mate. She's in this pack, that's why I wanted to join."
"Oh, I haven't met her yet."
"Here, I'll call her out. She's doing the laundry right now." He chuckles a little then goes silent for a moment. Then, a girl about 20 comes around the corner of the house in a white, flowing dress carrying a laundry basket. She puts the basket down and holds out her hand for me to shake.
"Hi, I'm Emilie. I heard that you haven't met me yet. I'm glad to have you as my Luna," she says with a smile. I shake her hand and return that same smile.
"Nice to meet you Emilie." We talk for a little bit and before I know it, Fionna and Kelsey are back.
"You'll have to excuse me, Emilie." I get up and walk inside. Kelsey hands me the bag.
"We got you two, just to make sure." She says shyly. She's not used to me yet, I guess.
"Thanks". I walk up stairs and head into the bathroom to use them. I sigh as I see the result on both. Dammit! How could this have happened so soon? I walk out of the bathroom to see Jared sitting on the bed waiting for me.
"Um, Jared? I have some news." How am I going to tell him?
"What is it? What's wrong?" He gets up and comes over to me. I back away.
"Stay there. I need to tell you this but I don't want you to be so close. I don't know how you'll react." He looks hurt by my words and I feel upset. But, I need to get this over with. He goes and sits back on the bed. "Are you ready?" He nods. I hold up both of the objects in my hand so he can see them and I see his face grow a sickly pale. "Jared, I'm pregnant."
