"$2.50 please," the lunch lady told me.
"What happened to $2.00?" I asked.
"Prices went up. Sorry Sab," she replied. I laughed and managed out an, "Okay," before I handed her the money and left. I headed to my normal seat with my normal friends just like normal days; but the days won't be normal for long, because tomorrow I'm turning 17 and you know what that means! 1 more year until I'm outta here!
"Hey Sab," my best friend Julie said as I sat down.
"What's up buttercup?" I asked. She looked at me with a look that said, 'What the actual fuck are you?' My other best friend Lucy answered for her.
"Nothing. Just eating this crappy food from this prison."
"I don't think its crappy." I always have to state my opinion. Always. They just ignored me.
"So, tomorrows the big day huh?" Shelly asked. She sits across from me.
"Yeah. I'm pretty excited. I feel like something big's going to happen." I told her. I just barely caught Julie, Lucy, and some other girls look worriedly at one another. I ignored it.
"Tell me," Julie started and pretended to look at a clipboard. "Mrs. Sabrina, do you feel any changes lately?" she questioned me.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked. She giggled and I rolled my eyes at her stupidity. For lunch, they served Mac & Cheese topped with a long gray hair. Okay so maybe I did lie; I do think the lunch food is gross. I threw my tray away 5 minutes before the bell rang signaling the end of lunch. I had Spanish next; Great. I entered Spanish class and sat next to "the hottest guy in school"; Jared Caller. Honestly, he's cute, but I'm too good for him. He left 3 minutes into class to go to the nurse. Mrs. Shoemock was rattling on about Spanish history and I zoned out. I guess this is a good time to tell you a little about myself then.
My full name is Sabrina Marie Ann Yeller, but everyone just calls me Sab. I'm 16 turning 17 tomorrow. Today is June 22, 2013. I have dark brown hair and hazel eyes; I'm told that when I'm mad they turn gold, but I never really paid any attention to it. Anyway, I've grown up in Miami, Florida since I was 6. We used to live in Canada, but then my dad had "important business", and had to move here. I currently go to Old Hays High School as a junior.
"Sabrina?" Mrs. Shoemocker called my name. Well, shit.
"Huh?" I don't like to be called on so I act dumb.
"I asked you how do you say 'I like to read and draw," she told me. Yes, I'm a junior and she treats us like freshmen.
"Me gusta leer un libro y dibjuar" I replied with a bored tone.
"Correcto!" God I hate this class. In here, in order to go to the bathroom, we have to ask in Spanish. So I raised my hand. when she called on me, I said
"¿Puedo ir al baño?"
"Sí puedes," is what she replied with. It means 'yes, go'. So I walked to do the bathroom and guess who I bumped straight into. Jared Caller.
