It's been two weeks, and still no information from Iren. No moans, no howls, nothing. So far, we've had no other attacks. As for my pregnancy, it turns out that werewolves give birth faster than humans. In human time, I'd be about 6 months. I should give birth to a pup in the next week or two. Jared is put on edge. He won't leave me alone, always asking if I'm alright, won't let me go for a run, stuff like that.
Everyone who was attacked is already healed. Kerren is being snotty saying his scar makes him look manly. God, sometimes I wish I could slap that boy. Cherry and Terry are fine. Their wounds have healed too.
Today is my first ultra sound. I'm a little worried. I don't know how the doctor will react when I tell her that I'm this big and still haven't had an ultra sound yet. I know that she'll be shocked. I can't even tell her that I'm only two weeks. Exactly how far would I be in human time? I wonder if it's a boy or a girl. I hope it's a girl. Sorry, I'm rambling again.
'Damn right you are!' says a voice. I recognize that voice.
'Dylan! Get out of my head!' I shout. Would it really be shouting if nothing vocal comes out? I say it is.
'You're no fun.'
'No, I'm hormonal. Now leave!'
'Okay, okay.'
I hear a burst of laughter from downstairs.
'What did you say?' My teeth are clenched. He said something about me.
'I didn't say anything' He insists.
'He's lying!' Kelsey yells in my head. Um, ow! I can already feel the headache starting to pound.
I rush downstairs, skipping the bottom step. I throw the door to the kitchen open, slamming it into the wall, the look of a madman on my face. Everyone grows silent, then Terry smirks.
"Run, bro!" He shouts, then a chorus of laughter. Dylan bursts out the side door, leading into the eleven acres of land Jared owns outside.
"What did he say?" I calm down, as if the whole thing was just an act.
"He said that Satan, referring to you, was awake."
I calmly walk out side and laugh as Dylan shifts and runs into the woods. As if that will stop me from tearing him limb from limb.
'Isn't that a little much?' Now Connie is the one eaves-dropping.
'Nothing is ever too much for me' I shift too, wobbling a little. It's not easy turning into a two-hundred-pound wolf with a baby inside of you, you know. I take a step forward, and another wolf blocks my vision. I look past the wolfs shoulder to Dylan's retreating form, then at the wolf in front of me, the white patch of fur on his eye stained grey.
'What the hell, Kerren?' I declare. Why is he in my way?
'Jared said to keep you inside and away from harm. Alpha's orders.' He replied.
'The hell I will. Move." I'm now making him choose between his Alpha and his Luna. But he still doesn't budge. 'Move.' I growl, louder this time.
'I can't just defy an Alphas orders, Sab. You know that. You of all people should know that.'
I try to move around him, but to no avail. He looks at me for a moment, like he's thinking about something. Oh, he better not.
'Don't even think about it.' I demand. No response. 'Kerren, I swear I will gut you if you call him over here.' Still, no response. Instead, he lays down. 'Kerren! Don't you dare!'
'Too late' He says. I can picture the cocky smile he would be wearing right about now. A few seconds later, Jared comes over, still him his human form.
"Sabrina..." He trails off. I can feel that he isn't angry, just annoyed. Tears well up in the corners of my eyes. I don't want him to be annoyed at me. He comes up and hugs my big, furry neck. "I know I can't tame your wild spirit, but will you please try to be careful, just once in your life?" He looks into my eyes and I look into his. Did he just give me permission to run after Dylan? I peer over his shoulder into the woods. Dylan is attempting to hide behind a tree so small that it wouldn't even hide a squirrel. I see the fear in his eyes.
I take a step forward, pause, and turn toward Jared.
I nuzzle my head under his hand. I tilt my head up and bring my slimy tongue from the base of his chin, to the tip of his hair, making his bangs stick up like he put gel in them. He laughs and wipes my spit off. I take a few steps into the yard, waiting to see what Jared, Kerren, or Dylan will do. Neither Jared nor Kerren come after me, but Dylan takes a few steps back. I howl in delight, and race after the now running Dylan.
