Ch.24 Return of the Overlord

(A/N: AFTER SIX BILLION YEARS, I'VE FINALLY POSTED A CHAPTER! Again, my updates are going to be late still since school is still rolling! :') )

~3rd POV~

   "We've retrieved your helmet," says Captain Kozu, "and a prisoner, my Dark Lord."

   He and two other warriors come rushing in with a kidnapped Nya, who is still struggling but to no avail.

   "You'll never get away with this!" she grunts in the midst of her struggling. "My friends will put a stop to you!"

   Suddenly, a dark laugh plays in the air, but it's from neither from Lord Garmadon nor the Overlord—rather, it's a person that none of which have seen, except for the Overlord himself.

   "I never liked the color red," says the soft, yet hoarse voice, slowly manifesting themselves next to Nya and an apple into her mouth, "but the darker shade will do nicely."

The warriors next to the figure are not surprised. The Captain had left earlier to retrieve some Dark Matter without even being asked. Garmadon takes a step back.

"W-Who are you!?" he demands.

"Oh, silly me," they say, giggling a little. "I never really showed myself to you. Well then, greetings. My name is Hopeless, daughter of the Overlord."

~(Y/N)'s POV~

The Horns of Destruction continue to blare across the island as we rush towards our hideout. When we arrive, we're greeted by a very concerned and confused Julian, who's looking around and trying to find the source of the alarm.

   "What was that sound?" he asks. "Eh— The horns?"

   "The Celestial Clock has reached zero," Sensei explains. "Garmadon's Ultimate Weapon is now operational, and the final battle between good and evil has all but begun."

   "Now Lloyd and (Y/N) must face Garmadon," Misako adds.

   "And most likely the Overlord himself," I also add. "He wouldn't just float around and do nothing. I have a feeling he has a secret scheme hiding in his body of darkness."

   "But where's Nya?" Julian asks.

   I glance behind me to see Kai comforting Jay as Sensei explains:

   "She's been taken by the Overlord, but we'll get her back. At the moment, there are bigger things at stake, including all of Ninjago itself."

   Jay growls, "Who cares about Ninjago? Nya was my— Uh, my... Y'know...!"

   "And she's my sister," Kai says. "I know her being captured is tough, but she's tougher—tougher than most of us. We'll see her again."

   "Lloyd, your focus gives strength to invoking the power of the Golden Dragon," says Sensei. "(Y/N), your focus gives strength to invoking a deeper power hidden within yourself. You cannot lose faith now. Everything rests on your shoulders."

   "B-But Sensei, you saw what happened when I tried to face my father: I-I froze! And (Y/N) couldn't take the shot!" Lloyd doubts.
