Robb climbed down his horse on a open field between the trees. Lyanna looked around but she couldn’t see the castle of Winterfell anymore.
“I think this place would do.” Robb started with a smile, he offered Lyanna his hand to help her climb down her horse, but she climbed down Deer in an elegant way. “I believe you’re quite used to the grounds already.” He then suggests to her, and she nods.
“I’ve been practicing a lot with uneven grounds lately, that’s the one thing I miss in King’s Landing, the place I used to train had a flat and stone floor.” Lyanna chuckles as she places her hand on the training sword, she was very ready to practice again, and she was excited to make this a regular thing.
“So tell me again why we couldn’t just practice within the courtyard?” Robb asks her as he took out his sword and Lyanna’s smile dropped.
“It’s because of my mother, she doesn’t allow me to fight.” She explains to him, and she looked over at her horse.
“Why not? If it is what you want and what you like, why not let you do the thing you love?” He asks her and she sighs.
“I think she doesn’t want me to learn how to fight properly. I honestly think that she’s afraid I might do something to her or Joffrey or something.” She says and Robb looked down, he did not really knew how to react to this.
“But what should I do to them? They are family, and I may hate them a little but I could never harm them.” Lyanna says and she looks back at Robb, “They may treat me as bad as they can possibly do, but I know in my heart that there is still some love for them left.”
“I think they are fools for not liking you.” Robb says and Lyanna chuckles.
“You’re a good friend, Robb. Thank you.” She smiles, and they decide to start the actual practice.Ser Godric was resting on his horse, he looked over to where his princess and Robb were practicing. He did not like these new people very much, and he really could not wait until they were back in King’s Landing, where he knew every inch of the way and every single person that could come near his princess. He understood that there were no dangers in Winterfell, it was too small for that, and the North were loyal allies to the King. He felt like Lyanna did not need him here, not as much as she needed him in King’s Landing.
“Oh, hey Robb, look! We’ve been compromised.” Lyanna chuckles as she lay eyes on the golden armored Ser Godric, “You can stop hiding behind the tree now, Ser.” She laughs to her guard.
“I was not hiding, my princess. I was just keeping an eye on you and the surroundings.” Ser Godric informed her with a small smile.
“There’s nothing to be afraid for, Ser, the animals that live in these woods are not dangerous, especially not when Grey Wind is with us.” Robb says to Ser Godric, and Lyanna could see the body language of Ser Godric change to a much more defensive and somehow jealous posture.
“Well, you can never be too certain, I am just doing my duty, My Lord, My Princess.” Ser Godric says, and Lyanna looked at him.
“Thank you, Ser. I highly appreciate it.” Lyanna tells her loyal guard.
Ser Godric watches as Lyanna and Robb laugh together and have fun together, they seem to become really good friends.
Het giggles and their laughter annoyed Ser Godric more than it should, and he knew he was growing more and more jealous of the two of them together.
Ser Godric looked up rapidly as he heard a set of hooves approaching, he was alert and he relaxed slightly to see it was just that Greyjoy boy.Lyanna lowered her sword as she too hears someone approaching on a horse. Robb on the other hand did not hear, and because he did not expect her to lower her guard, he hit her hard on her shoulder, and Lyanna’s eyes shot to him. “Robb!” She exclaimed in a little shock.
“Sorry Princess! I had not realised you were distracted.” He excused himself, and she chuckles.
“It’s okay, my lord, I told you not to hold back on me, so it’s not your fault.” She says with a chuckle, and she watched as Theon Greyjoy approaches them, his facial expression not really happy, and thus their laughter died rather abruptly.
“My Lord, My Princess, Ser.” Theon says, Ser Godric had gotten closer to Lyanna as to protect her.
“What is it, Theon?” Robb asks, and Theon looked down to the ground, his horse uncomfortable shuffling around, like they both did not really wanted to be here, and they were rather nervous to how to bring the news.
“It’s Bran, Robb, he fell.” Theon says and he looked to Robb, and Robb just stared at him like he did not understand what had been said.
Lyanna quickly grabbed the arm of her knight. She knew this was something bad and her reaction to bad things was to shield herself with the guard that would happily do anything for her.
“How is that possible? That little kid never falls.” Robb says, and he walked over to his horse, “How is he?” He then asks as he climbs his horse.
“Maester Luwin is taking care after him, he said that if he survives the night he will live.” Theon says, and Lyanna looked at Ser Godric, not really knowing what to say.
“Take me to him.” Robb commanded Theon, and they rode away, without saying a word to Lyanna. She watch them ride off and she turned to Ser Godric again.
“Ser Godric, tell me, how should I react to news like this?” She asks him.
“I have no idea, my princess, but let’s go back to the castle.” He says and he looks over to her horse.
Lyanna quickly nodded and walked over to her horse, she raised into her saddle and the two of them headed back to the castle. All she was wondering was how the little boy had indeed fell? As he never fell.
