"Sorry to interrupt this late, my princess." To Lyanna's surprise it was her uncle that had entered her tent.
"Don't be, uncle Jaime. What is it you want?" Lyanna asks him, she never visited her this late, he barely even visited her chambers at all back in the Red Keep.
"The King has send me, he is aware of how much you like to practice with a sword, and thus he had sent me to teach you, so please get dressed so we can get on with it." He says, Lyanna scoffs at him, but then put her leather pants and shirt on again.
Lyanna had looked at her uncle quite suspecting, he would tell her mother, the queen, his twin sister, and then Lyanna would be punished, maybe not by the queen herself but by one of the guards. Would her uncle really betray her that way? Would he betray the king's orders that way? Lyanna knew Jaime loathed her father but would he really rat me out by his sister?
"Let's go, we need to walk a while, unless you want your mother to hear us. Or did you think I would tell her either way." Jaime spoke her exact thoughts and he laughed at the busted expression Lyanna made, Lyanna quickly picked up the sword she was hiding in her suitcase. They walked to the edge of the nearby forest, and Jaime looked at Lyanna. She was so unlike the rest of his sister's children, and that had always fascinated Jaime.
"We will not go into the forest, as it is too dark in there." He tells his niece, and she quickly nods and shoot a look at the full moon that was shining brightly over the camp. For more than an hour Lyanna and Jaime duelled each other, Jaime not doing his best to match his nieces level, and Lyanna trying her best to compare to her uncle's advanced level. Jaime kept giving advice to Lyanna as she tried to hit him with her sword, she took in his advice and she immediately took it to practice. Lyanna let out a tired yawn and that was the signal for Jaime to stop.
"That's enough for today, we have a long journey to make and we will be riding all day tomorrow. Go get some rest, and I will be expecting you tomorrow, fully dressed and ready to go by the same hour." Jaime says and Lyanna nods happily.
Jaime was surprised of how quick his niece learned, and he wondered if she would still know everything he had taught her tomorrow. Jaime wanted to tell his sister what the King made him do now, but he decided not to. Maybe it was good for him to have some bonding time with his niece, and he enjoyed it very much to teach her.Jaime and Lyanna walked back to the camp in silent, and Lyanna gives her uncle a quick nod as their ways departed, Jaime smiles to her and he watched how she closes her tent after she went inside.
Lyanna thought about the moments she had shared with her uncle. There were not so many memories shared between the two of them. Most of the time it would be formal occasions, with the company of her mother and her siblings. When he stood guard for her father and she was summoned to his chambers. Lyanna realised she did know close to nothing about his uncle and she was dying to get to know him more.
Lyanna stipped herself from her clothings once again and she covered herself with the fur that was on her bed. It wasn't as comfortable as she was used to but it was okay and she was very tired so she drifted off quite quickly.___________________________________________________________
